I am happy to send my children to St. Bernadette. A Spanish specific class is offered in upper grades and incorporated into classroom teaching in lower grades. Personally, I would rather enjoy the small class sizes that we have than pay for staffing so my kids can go to gym and art several times a week. Look for a preschool to be coming soon.
The Enrichment program (gifted) and Language program (Spanish) are no longer offered to my children. Art, Computer, and Physical Education class sessions are less frequent this year. There is no preschool program. Big disappointment!
Such a nice school. Good education and sports activities. It makes me sad when I hear people repeat rumors that aren't even true.
My 3 children attend St. Bernadette's and are getting the best education around. We truly have awesome parents, students and staff!!! PLEASE stop the listening to negative rumors. Rumors are rumors!!!! Come and take a look for yourself and be amazed at how well behaved, curtious, well educated our students are at the end of 8th grade. Take at a look at our test scores. Not too mention 90% of our students who enter high school are in honor classes. We truly are the best kept secret in Westlake. Come meet our new awesome pastor this Decemeber!
After 8 years of experience with St. Bernadette's, I can honestly say that your experience will be what you make of it. We have had an awesome experience at this school and parish! Would highly recommend to anyone considering - come visit and see for yourself.
We presently have three children at Saint Bernadette. Each one has enjoyed a nurturing and academically challenging experience. My husband and I are both lawyers and expect the best from a school. We have not been disappointed. The teacher/pupil ratio cannot be beat. We have especially enjoyed the other families we have come to know who are down-to-earth, caring and commited to the school community.
I have two children attending Saint Bernadette. I wouldn't want them anywhere else. My 9th grader was completely prepared for high school due to his experience at Saint Bernadette. The teachers and administrators work harder and are more dedicated than any other school I have experienced. The time and effort put into this school is unlike any other. The principal puts her heart and soul into making Saint Bernadette excel in every aspect. I feel very fortunate to have my children here, and anyone who has seen the kind of students that come from Saint Bernadette knows there is no other place like it.
Our experience at St. Bernadette was an unacceptable, unprofessional, and disappointing one. I would not recommend this school when there are other options in the area. This school does not go the extra mile and that is what we as parents are paying for. This is what my child deserved.
Lack of communication , quick to judge , the list goes on . I am pulling my daughter out and sending her the St. Raphael's in Bay Village. St. Bernadette would rather nit pick than 'teach' Good Riddins!
St. Bernadette is a fabulous school! The teachers and staff go the extra mile to make sure it is an outstanding learning environment for our children as well as incorporate the Catholic values that are so important to us. The Iowa Basic scores continue to reflect the excellent education practices going on here. St. Bernadette is truly our 2nd family!
Great parent/teacher involvement. Superior learning environment with a motivated and caring staff. Sant Bernadette is a wonderful school.
The principal and teachers seem to really care about the children, and they take pride in the entire educational experience. The only thing that is difficult to deal with at this school are the rude and snobby parents who put the school down.
Saint Bernadette is an exceptional religious school. Wonderful facilities and extracurricular activities! The parents and school are united to provide the BEST educational experience for our children.
My observation of Saint Bernadette School during the 2007-2008 year is that faculty and staff work to make the school a place of welcome and hospitality. Efforts are being made to continually improve the school. Challenging academic experiences are the rule. Students receive excellent preparation for high school.
This was once a great school but the administration changed in 2005-2006 and they don't have a clue how to provide a positive learning environment. Over the past 2yrs at least 15 teachers and parish staff have left. The younger grades are ok, but the kids get lost and bored around 6th grade because they share the same stiffling standards as the 1st graders. Individual learning styles are discouraged because children in this school are 'trained' not taught. Good luck here if your child is gifted or needs any type of academic assistance. This school is for children willing to stay in 'the box.' This school also has serious problems with bullying that the administration has not been able/not wanted to stop. It's a tolerated elitist environment which is very unchristian. If you're moving to Westlake check out St. Raphael in Bay Village, or St. Christopher in Rocky River.
As parents, my wife and I love St. Bernadette's. The school scores in the 99th percentile in the Iowa Basics, the teachers are kind, and the families friendly. Great sports program as well.
Saint Bernadette is an excellent school. The goal here is to have students high school/college ready. Education is centered on the whole child - spiritually, intellectually and emotionally.
Saint Bernadette School provides students with an excellent education. There are many activities throughout the year for parents and children. The leadership is strong, and the staff is caring. Sending your child to our school would be great decision.
Saint Bernadette is a great school! The principal is very caring, the teachers are knowledgeable and the staff is very helpful. Parent involvement is welcome and there are many wonderful school events.
Saint Bernadette is an excellent school. Parents are involved in cocurricular activities that support their children. More importantly, parents are immersed in their child's learning through their partnership with teachers. Communication is open and regular as a result of an adminsitration that cares. At Saint Bernadette, we work at discouraging gossip and encouraging positive conversation.
