Wheelersburg Elementary has been rated Excellent 7 years in a row by the Ohio Department of Education. The Elementary has also been awared the State Superintendent's School of Promise Award for the past five years. The Teachers, Principal and office staff are wonderful. They trully care about my child and his total development. I feel very, very fortunate to have my child attending such a child centered school.

I was born and raised in Wheelersburg and my son is now in the first grade at Wheelersburg Elementary. We are moving out of the area and I am very sad to see him leave his school. We have both loved and enjoyed his 2 years at this school and will truly miss it. He has learned so much and has been pushed in a very productive and inspiring way.

Wheelersburg may have the best statistics around, and for the most part the teachers ARE wonderful. However, the level of things children are allowed to get away with is outrageous (not just by parents, but by parents as well). Parent involvement may be high, but the quality is lacking. As far as knowledge goes, Burg is great, but growing us is not just about book smarts.

We Moved here when my child was going into Kindergarten, now in second grade. I search all the schools in Scioto County and thought this one is the best one. I was right. The teachers are wonderful. I didn't have to worry which teacher she would get. The teachers give her challenges and goals to meet. The school stresses on self-respect and respect for others. She comes home wanting to go back to school. I can go to school and talk to her teachers when I have a question. The principals door is always open for parents that care what is going on in their childs life. Thanks Teachers and staff for all you do!

New to the area and the school has been a big letdown for my daughter and I. She is on the elementary side and homework assignments have been printed from online. The office staff has been rude to me. This has been a huge disappointment to us. The statistics looked great but from a child point of view, says the kids are different at this school and it has been very hard for her to make friends. I think that I could have done a better job myself. We are transferring her to another school.

My son is in kindergarten. He seems happy with his school so far. Teacher is paying good attention to his academic level and make program for his level, so I am happy, too.

I am a teacher and know a lot about what constitutes a good school. In my opinion, this is the best school in Scioto County. It has well-qualified and experienced teachers and a terrific administration. I do not work in this district, and am strictly speaking as a parent. I would recommend this school to anyone.
