Edgewood has been pretty good to our family. The principal really cares about the kids-- and believes in family involvement. Communication from the school is pretty inconsistent-- but has been very good by individual teachers and support staff. The PTO is... well... it really isn't even a factor. They don't do anything and have generally been pretty click-ish. The school nurse is on the ball! She takes her job seriously and still manages to show that she cares. Band is very welcoming kids with disabilities. The computer tech teacher has gone above and beyond! My child has found a love for history-- a couple of amazing teachers have sparked that interest. One amazing speech path and a couple of good ones. My child has sensory issues and ceiling fans are an issue... one 'please' to the best custodian EVER and the fan was no longer an issue. Academically my son has gone from hating school and being grossly underestimated at another school to full general education and the merit roll. Edgewood has been good to him.

there are many upsides to this school. although there are many kids who seem to act out, so i was surprised to see this school on the list. but oh well. i like this school for the most part, except they dont pay much individual attention to the students because this school os full of students. but it would be nice sometimes. for example, my uncle died and they have a support group for kids who are dealing with death, and because i had never even spoken to my counseler, (and they were well aware of my uncle's death), they never invited me into the group. like i said, no individual attention. but they are right, the 'office aids' are nice.

they help you with problems. The counslers dont tell teachers any problems or other kids. The principals are great. The medical is to. They dont call kids all by PA system they have office aides that send it.
