This school could not be any better, I am truely impressed with the way this school has helped my daughter evolve. She has attended Slate Hill for her k-year and it was great. I would suggest this school to anyone new to the area with children starting out or even in a higher grade.

I could not be happier with Slate Hill. There are so many wonderful things about this school. My kids are both the youngest in their class and they've thrived both academically and socially. I've been very pleased with their teachers, the office staff and the principal. Everyone is caring, consistant and communicative. The children are from diverse backgrounds and the school embraces that. There is a stong emphasis on developing good characer traits and I've seen the results in not only my children but in other kids I interact with at the school. Slate Hill is an inviting, warm and fun place for my kids to learn and for me as well.

I LOVE this school! The office staff is very knowledgeable about the goings on around the school and are willing to help in anyway they can. The teachers are all very friendly and genuinely care about the education and welfare of their students. I have open enrolled my children in this school because there is no other place like SLATE HILL!

At fist I thougt that this would be a great school for my children to go to. But as I discoveredthe principal, office staff, and parent volunteers are rather gossopy. One of my children was treated very terribly by fellow peers and by office staff members because of some of his issues. This school also has some problems with stealing, bullying, and just general rudness. Aside from that the teachers are woderful, and I pray that they will continually try to influence the principal, office staff members, parents, and every student that walks through their doors.

Wonderful school, we love the different cultures and backgrounds. The children are all so special and the teachers have a strong desire to help them learn. This school is an A+ school without a doubt.

I like the atmosphere of the school, very friendly and caring, no doubt. The teachers and office people are very loving to kids. But academically, though it's not bad, I wish they spend more time to develop the curriculum in a way that gives a little more challenge to the children yet providing help for kids to meet this challenge by better coordination between the teacher and parents. Their music program is good with variety but short in depth. I wish I can help more to make it better.

This is definitely a great elementary school. The school authorities are very friendly and parent-school teacher/office communication is extremely good. The principal is very friendly and takes individual attention on students from K till 6th which is pretty rare. I would rate this school A++++

This school is well rounded in learning and culture for the kids. The teachers really take an interest in ALL students in their class and embrace any special needs such as language barriers so EVERY child can learn the assignments. They are very caring and concerned teachers and office employees alike. The principal knows all the students and takes parent's concerns very seriously. The response time for any phone calls is the same day. Communication between teachers and parents is daily to keep parents involved and up to date with what the kids are doing at school both academically and socially. I would rate this school A+++

I am thrilled with Slate Hill Elementary! My child is challenged daily and her teachers honestly care about her. The teachers take each child at his/her ability level and take them as far as the child is able to go. The art, music and physical education teachers are some of the best in the district. Our music teacher was even voted 'Music teacher of the Year' in Ohio several years ago. Slate Hill was also awarded the national blue ribbon award for excellence in the late 90's. When I walk in the door I feel as if I am a part of a huge family. All school sponsored activities are well attended by both school families and staff. I will not even consider moving out of the Slate Hill attendance area until my daughter completes 6th Grade! Please come visit and see our school 'in action!'

This school is definitetely not the best. I had my child removed from this school because the teachers and students would not accept my childs mantal issues. He now goes to Worthington Park Elementary which has been a great change because everyone there has accepted him like there own.
