great teachers, staff and principle! my kids have really excelled at Mckinley. I hope things never change, things are working here!!
I love Mckinley! my family moved here last year and my kids went from c's to f's to A's to c's! so they have it figured out here! I thank all the staff and wish they all got more thank yous! The good Mckinley does shows in our kids!!
McKinley is an awesome school! From the new leadership of Mr. Hawes, to the teachers and aids(especially Mrs.Long and Mrs. Waggoner,) and a wonderful secretary! With that said, the vandalism at McKinley is heartbreaking and I really wish something could be done about it. The children and the PTO along with some great moms worked hard at planting flowers in the beds and they have been destroyed and it has only been a few days. There are lot's of parking lot lights and I don't think a single one is used at night. But I still thikn McKinley is a fabulous school. Highly recommended and the year round program is so wonderful.
McKinley is great! I cannot say enough about how wonderful this school is. The teachers are very nice and work very hard to meet the needs of all children. My daughter is in her third year at McKinley and we are extremely pleased with the educational experience she has had so far! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
After my daughter has spent two years at McKinley I can honestly say that they are lacking in many areas. I chose to take her out of McKinley and give her a better opportunity at a school where the teachers and Principal are really there for you and your children. I can only say that there is a justifiable reason that so many parents try to open enroll their children in a different school within the district.
McKinley is great! From the Principal to the Teachers, to the Aids and Janitorial team, everyone cares about the students. As in everything, some are better than others but 9 out or 10 of the teachers are the best around. My family has had years of experience at McKinley and are very familiar with many of the teachers. The year around schedule is awesome and the teachers truly care. Ms. Bayless, the principal, is one of the best EVER!! So many of the teachers such as Mrs. Pagett, Mrs. Wright and her aid Mrs. Long, Mrs. Bratka (the former Ms. Swagert), Mr. Hawes, Ms. Bonner, Ms. Gibbs, Ms. Stephens, Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Hurst, Mrs. Moore, Mr. Noble and the best secretary, Ms. Reeves, I could name many more but I'm out of words. The teachers are GREAT! The PTO is active and well organized and always open to new members!
My son is now in 4th grade and has been attending McKinley since kindergarten with Mrs. Beam. We have been thrilled with McKinley. The teachers that he has had have all been terrific. If I could change two things, I would love to see the PTO be more welcoming to new parents who would like to be involved. I turn my name in all the time to volunteer and no one ever calls. So I just help out in class as much as I can. The vandalism at the school is very disheartening and I would love to see some extreme measures put in place to solve the problem! But hats off to the faculty and staff, we love McKinley!
'Prospective parents of McKinley students: I would rate this school excellent my daughter was a kindergardener last year with Mrs. Wright. She is a excellent teacher. My daughter really enjoyed being in her class. The Principal and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Schools starts July 28, 2004 and my daughter is very exciting and looking forward to starting back. We love McKinley!!
