Lousy school. Really lacking in pretty much every direction. The students are rude and out of control. A good deal of bullying. Many of the teachers are burned out and not raising the bar. School is dirty and poorly run. Many parents are fed up and frustrated. Not a school that is preparing kids for success.
This school has major issues. Lacks basic structure and organization. There is pervasive bullying. Limited parental involvement. The worst phys ed classes I have ever seen. No organized sports or teams. There are a few great teachers however they are fighting an uphill battle. The special education program is terrible. Classes are disruptive and morale is low.
We attended Mills Lawn for one school year. We were told this school & community work together to enrich Art and Music. This was true. We were very involved in any and all activities. The biggest issue we had was the excessive "bullying" by students and the lack of parental involvement. It was clear that a handfull of parents supported this school. Overall the teachers were excellent - we had an issue with only one who had no skills with teamwork, classroom control or the ability to keep students interested in learning. School is supposed to be getting a new principal and hopefully some new leadership will help.
