I am an alum and a parent of this school district. I see many changes taking place at the school, most for the good. The district is restricted by money but I do see them working towards changes that benefit the students. My children had dedicated teachers who stayed after or came early to work with my kids, especially if they had been sick. This area is clearly changing, as is school funding, making it difficult for school districts like Austintown to keep up. I hope the dedication of the staff (especially at the high school where my kids are now) continues.

I am a Sophmore this year at Fitch Highschool and i'll just say i can't stand it there. Only like two or three of my teachers actually cared my 9th grade year and helped me to pass. The others didnt. Also Fitch is just a big showoff school based off of the military formed band that we have and the stupid sports that everyone is so wrapped up in that they barely care about the school itself and the academics! The roof last year was falling apart and leaking and we just finally got a cooling system put in that broke down the next day! seriously? Oh and we also had a new turf put in too....why not spend the money earned to actually i dont know fix up the school? We don't need to show off. We need a better school! We need better grades and teachers that actually care!

This school's completely overrated, and things are only gonna get worse in the future. The sophomore and freshman class this year have been the worst our school's seen in years and with the open enrollment the inner city kids will only make it worse. Athletics cant even excel because many kids cant play due to bad academics (minimum 1.5 GPA) or drugs, which drug use in the school is growing rapidly. And about 60% of the students will just simply do what they want. Not only the kids but the teachers, most do not care whether you pass or fail and do little to none for helping when asked. There's been many pregnancies this year, the majority are in the freshman class. Fights have increased, and kids repeating grades as far as percents go is drastically increasing as well. Expulsion numbers are growing yearly. Fitch is on a big downfall.

I went to Fitch my Junior and Senior year. I left Fitch to go to MCCT&T. I had a good a GPA and most of my teachers liked me, but i didn't feel like I was getting enough from the school. The school didn't push me hard enough. I thought the teachers tried there best and some just didn't care at all. The students do just about what ever they want. The principle has a 'we take threats seriously here' policy but it isn't very followed through.

I hate our dress code, our lunches are horrible, our teachers don't really care, all this school is, is a showoff, we have too much money and we don't use it for anything, just small repairs, this is a waste of money, we have over 40mil just from the stimulus, why not use it toword our library, it's brand new and they want to close it.

I believe Fitch is a great school with excellent teachers. People need to quit the 'if you're not on the football team' sob story. There are few teachers that favor the football players and other athletes. It's completely unfair to judge the majority of the teachers at Fitch by a stereotype that a few have helped create. The school offers many levels of classes to benefit each student! I hope the school does not drop AP and honors classes because of funding. Overall the teachers are great, there is a variety of classes to accommodate ability and interest, and there are plenty of extracurriculars (for all students, not just athletes).

I graduate from Fitch High School in June of 2009. The honors and AP classes as well as the variety of extracurricular still suprises me. We hold our own with even the richer schools in the area. Our teachers make learning fun in creative ways. Not once have I ever felt unsafe, and the principals are the best you could ask for. We have so much community pride and school spirit. Fitch allows you to explore and excel in your talents. I know I will be graduating top of my class and with a better education then surrounding schools. I love Fitch High School and the oppurtunities it has given me to succeed in my life.

Austintown Fitch is sorely lacking in guidance for students unless you are a memeber of the football team. This school values athletics above all else. We moved into the area 3 years ago and I am not impressed with the faculty nor the principal

I'm incredibly disappointed in the quality of things at Fitch High. Atheletics recieve many more accolades than academics ever will, and unless you're on the football team, you're of no importance. There aren't that many clubs to choose from, so unless you're an athlete, you're stuck.

I have tutored previous Fitch Students and it is obvious from what I have seen that the quality of education and care are far above most. I certainly can not say this about many post high school students I have tutored. Basicly I see good results coming from Fitch 'keep up the good work'.
