Woodside has done a complete turn around. Thanks to our new principal and the great staff I would not have pick a different Elementary for my children. The PTA has done a wonderful job with planning many activities for the children. It would be nice to see different parents involved but parents that do help do an amazing job. We are happy to call Woodside OUR school!

Woodside is a wonderful neighborhood school. It is sometimes the most stable thing in the student's lives. Our new principal has done a marvelous job of including parents, making students feel important and appreciating the daunting job that the teachers have to do each day. It is the best kept secret in Austintown.

The review below so misses the mark on the environment at Woodside. We are a community school that used to have great parent involvement and presence in the schools. It helped the teachers and the administrators. The former principal, and yes I said former, did everything she could to discourage parents getting involved in their child's education. This school will be the great institution is was before she came along, we are a strong community!!

Parent involvement is important, in the right setting. However, some parents should allow educators to do their job! Quit making excuses for your kids and make them accountable. This starts at home, where you do your job.

The last post hits it right on the head...Ms Sutton does everything she can to keep parents OUT!

The teachers are great and encourage parent involvement strongly..Mrs. Sutton the principal however stands in the way of parent involvement. PTA membership is virtually nonexistent at this school. The principal implements new rules constantly to impede the good work of PTA.

I am a parent with two children at Woodside. I think it's a wonderful school with a great group of children. The teachers are good and so are the parents. The only problem is, it is the same parents. There is little parental involvement. Just a little involvement goes a long way with children this age.

I feel that Woodside has the best Teachers around. I could not be happier with any of the teachers my Son has had in the past 3 years. The only disappointment I have about Woodside is the lack of parent involvement. It is always the same small group of people. This is a very crucial time in our children's lives. Let's make a Difference!

I find it disturbing that we have not recieved any info. on school starting, classes, bus # ect. also.....I was told that for grade-K there probably won't be ANY ORENTATION. My daughter is going to go there, I am very upset...sending a 5 Year old to her first school, without meeting any teachers, seeing her class, and just plan getting comfortable with her suroundings. UNEXCEPTABLE in my opinion. I will take her there befor, it would have been nice to have the school set it up for everyone.
