Seriously... This site had Ada rated at an 8 and Latta at a 7. I moved both of my kids from Ada to Latta. One was struggling simple because she had teachers who did not care. The other was an 'AP' student. At Latta the one who was AP works to keep an A/B average. The one who was struggling got the help she needed and is now doing well.

I Currently Attend Ada High School And I Feel This School Needs More Rules On Clothing, But Academically This School Is Very High. Also The Athletics Are All Really Good Exept Baseball, I Think They Need Help. -Tiffany,16,Ada

My child transferred to Ada High School her senior year. Her previous school was rated high academically and she was a B student. At AHS she had to take AP classes to get challenged. At least they had AP courses available. I had been told that Ada School System had poor academics and that turned out to be true. I was grateful my child had to only be there one year.

This is the most academically focused school in the area. I graduated from Ada and had a great experience. If you work hard and accept the discipline you can really get a lot out of it. I graduated fully confident that I would do well in higher level education, and I did. I went to two prestigious Oklahoma colleges and was more advanced than my fellow students because of my Ada High education. Extra curricular activities are great if you involve yourself. In any school, you will get out what you put in.

The Ada public schools are typical of small to medium sized rural schools. What it lacks in academic rigor, it makes up in community involvement, extracurricular activities and learning environment. It s proximity to East Central University and that university s strong teacher education programs means that the Ada school system gets more than a typical share of quality teachers. Yet the schools remains small enough and student friendly enough, that individuals are unlikely to get overlooked or lost in the system. . If students are pushed to take the more advanced courses, which are available as options, they will be sufficiently prepared for university academics. Personally I consider the good and safe school environment to be equally important.

The Ada school system does not fully prepare children for higher education. Ada is behind in Math and Sciences and does not offer a wide variety of courses to take. While attending school here, I thought I was getting a quality education, but once I graduated and went on to a Divison 1 college, I found out that I was behind. Since becoming a teacher myself, I realize how much Ada really is lacking in every aspect. Think twice before enrolling your child in this school system.

Our four children have had a very good experience in Ada over the past ten years. The schools are eager to involve parents in activities and there is excellent communication of each child's progress. The teachers are well qualified and our kids are prepared for college. Sports programs are strong, especially football. As in many smaller communities, football is perhaps overemphasized, but produces good community support. This is a safe community that values our children and their education.

Don't make your children go to this school. In fact, if you really love them, don't make them live in Ada period.
