My son goes to Washington and we stand behind this school 100%!!! My son excels in reading, so he is placed in a specialized reading instruction group for 20 min. per day. He is nearing the end of his kindergarten year and is reading on a 2nd grade level thanks to the time and attention that he gets in reading class. Every teacher greets you as you walk in the door, whether they know who you are or not. These teacher care about teaching and their students! It shows in their positive approach to learning not only the 3 r's but the 4th R that so many times is left out...Respect!

The students in this school are limited in their education by those who can't keep up. Whether it's 'English as a second language' or just slower students, those who could excel don't get the chance. When the teachers promise to have a student tested for the gifted program, it doesn't happen (3 1/2 years and counting). Happy faces are put on when parents are scheduled to be around, but a gloomy place if you just 'pop in.'
