I used to think Arnett was a great school. However, since my children are getting older I have started seeing major problems. In the past two/three years there have been several bullying incidents, major favoritism on some of the teacher's/coach's parts (as well as parents) and there are teachers teaching classes they are not experienced in. My oldest grades are slipping due to the lack of teaching in the classes that the teachers are teaching without knowing what they are doing. I am very displeased with the way this school is becoming. If you are not born and raised here, even if you marry someone who was, your children suffer for it. Seriously contemplating moving.
I went to this school and I came from a big School and Big City and I learned more here in the Arnett Public School system then I did anywhere else. I saw my grades raise from c average to just short of Straight A status. I recomend this small town and this school system as you actually get the one on one teacher student relationship that everyone hails about. The Teachers here actually care about their students and know you on a first name basis which isn't hard for such a small school. Ver much recommended.
I had three daughters that attended this school. I found this to be the worst school that I had ever seen. My girls were treated badly by the other children and suprisingly by the teachers as well. My middle daughter was a straight 'A' student when I enrolled her there and in one semester she was almost a straight 'F' student. My daughter would turn in her homework and it would magically disappear. Her teacher called her an 'outsider' and that she had no business living there. When I went to the principal with the problem he blamed my daughters for all of the problems. This school is nothing more than a private clubhouse for the people born there. It took two years of homeschooling to get my daughter's self confidence back. She is an 'A' student once again. If you weren't born here, keep out!
