Comparing test scores of area schools, we rank toward the bottom. The good teachers cannot take up the slack for those who do not have to teach. Parental involvement is encouraged but there are consequences for you and your children if you question or disagree with administration or the 'click'. I encourage all parents to take a look at our school budget, attend school board meetings, ask questions, and check teaacher certifications. I was astonished and angered to see where the money for our childrens education is going. No wonder our test scores are so low and parent involvement is weak.

About the tests

In 2008-2009 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests (OCCT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math. The results for reading and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The OCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
