I am a new hire at BBHS, and I must say that I am very impressed with how the school handles itself in every aspect. Discipline has been excellent. Safety is very important to the faculty and staff, as is evident by the real Police Officer located on campus for the full day. Extracurriculars are outstanding, and I hope to make a splash with my competitive Debate Squad. I have not yet met all of the teachers, but am extremely impressed by those that I have met and witnessed to this point. Finally, I cannot say enough about Principal Williams and Asst. Principal Davis. I'm speechless at how well they do controlling this school. Thanks for reading my opinion.
Awesome school with one of a kind Art Department IF art is your thing then this is your place. The Art Department has two exceptional teachers- a very uncommon situation for a school this size.
This is a great school. The faculty is awesome but like all schools it has room for improvements. I highly recommend this school if one lives in the area.
A large number of advanced classes are provided. Math teachers are excellent. Lots of opportunity for extracurricular activities. Great rural school which still provides a moral, solid education.
Broken Bow High School offers AP classes, but the quality of the classes is questionable. Teachers seem to confuse quantity and quality of work. AP English teachers seem to be more concerned with teaching the test than with providing a well rounded English education. The availability of extracurricular activities has declined in recent years. The speech/drama program is almost non existant, and the music program is declining steadily. The level of parent involvement is minimal. Parents are welcomed at the school, but there is little for them to get involved in. At one time, Broken Bow High School was one of if not the best high school in Southeastern Oklahoma, unfortunately, it is steadily declining as the long time staff reaches retirement age or moves on to better jobs.
It has been a wonderful place for my children. There is a lot of involvement from the whole town when it comes to sports (mostly football). I went here and loved it. It is growing and bringing in more to learn each year.
