this school has done a great job with my kids....i would like to beable to find out more about my daughters grades while she is in school their
I have been, for the most part, very disappointed in the middle school environment at this school. The school is full of bullying from the principal down to individual children. Too many coaches are 'teaching' classes and not doing much except book work. Being middle--of-the-road is what they want, not exceptional, not gifted. Fit into the mold and get along. I've been very disappointed.
This school's children are not disciplined enough, the girls are very mean to each other.
This school has been a huge disappointment in contrast to the elementary experience at Verdigris. Students seem not to be seen as individual learners, but as objects that must fit a certain mold. If your learner does not fit the mold, then he/she is most likely out of luck and will spend many miserable years there trying to succeed where success is not available to them. There are good teachers there, but there seems to be more there who are earning a paycheck and trying to do that by doing as little as possible. The expectations of the students are often unrealistic, and the work is mostly out of a book, providing little opportunity for exploration and hands-on problem solving. Electives are band, PE and foreign language. There are very limited opportunities with technology. With this in mind, very little is being done to prepare these students for the real world.
My children have attended Verdigris Schhols for 4 years now have done nothing but excel. The teachers are always willing to give them any extra guidance thay may need both during school hours and in the evenings. Most of the teachers provide home telephone numbers to the students to provide additional support if needed.
