Amazing school in a great area. Very happy my daughter was able to attend Summit all three years. Many extra curricular activities to chose from, many class options to challenge her, and overall the other students were great kids.
my son is thriving here...He loves sports and all of his friends...The principal D is great! He really respects all of the coaches too!
I love this school, the teachers are really nice. Best school ive ever been to, and when theres a new kid, EVERYONE makes them feel right at home. You'll always have someone to talk to here. (:
My son is in 6th grade and is ADHD and has other special needs and is doing very well. He has had a few issues and they were brought to my attention and fixed promptly. My son likes taking the bus and enjoys his classes and teachers. So far so good!
Summit Middle School is good school for bright, very independent, and self-disciplined, students who don't need a positive student/teacher relationship. There is a lot of homework (50 to 100 of the same math problems for example). Teachers at Summit use negative reinforcement (as opposed to positive reinforcement) which makes lower performing students quickly hate school. Warning: Don't let your children ride the school bus. There is no control on the bus and anything goes.....I mean anything. If you choose Summit, like many schools, you must commit to driving your student to and from school. In addition, as with many schools, if your child needs special attention like a teacher student relationship and not just a number, or your child has strong feelings, or has ADHD , or has ADD, or is a lab student this is not the school for you. They will hate school and perhaps not recover.
I think Summit is a great school. I'm going to be in 7th grade this year. Yeah, there are ups and downs but every school is like that. The teachers are great! And I have tons of friends here! I love it...at times. Hahaha. But I mostly love it.
This school is absolutly amazing! I'm now going into the 7 grade after the summer , and I'm truly estatic to be enrolled in this school for another teriffic year. The teachers are wonderful and fair to each and every student. We have our bad days at Summit(But of coarse every school does) But the good ones over rule the bad ones. I am proud to say that I belong to the school of Eagles!
Help from teachers and staff is excellent. I was kept informed on the progress of my grandson which helped tremendously. Keep up the good work!
Summit is very nice, compassionable, and friendly. At first I thought I wouldnt have any friends but I made lots of them. The teachers truly care for each and every one of us no matter who we are and were we come from. I got A's & B's but I passed the 6th grade, now in the 7th & still go there. They have a homework hotline to see if we have any homework. And remeber every one is someone at Summit.
I have gone to this school since 6th grade and its an awesome school. It keeps my parents involved in the school so they are currently always updated on my grades. I can go to school notes to look at my teachers pages and look at assignments that i missed and/or my parents can look at it and see what we did in that class that day. Also i can call a special hotline at school that the teachers so and it tells you what all of your teachers did that day. My parents registered to get emails everyday on my grades so my parents are always up to date on assignments and my grades. Tbe school is all about making everyone feel special so noone is left out of anything. The teachers are great and get you ready for the next grade and they care about each and every student.
I am from Korea and attended this school for 1 year. Summit teachers showed me that they actually care about me and my grade. I made great friends and went back to Korea. Summit rocks
Both my child and I are very happy with Summit. They give many incentives to children that encourages them to push themselves regarding both grades and good character. There is beneficial email communication with the school, for example I can access his grades on any assignment he completes weekly to keep an eye on how he's doing. Also, I can have an alert email notification sent to me if his grade falls below whay we expect. I have no hesitation about recommending Summit.
Wonderful academic instruction. Principal and Teacher quality are exceptional. Their first priority is the student. My 8th grader has blossomed physically, mentally and academically in this wonderful school environment.
I am in the eigth grade and I think this is one of the best school's I have went to!! They show that they care for each of us and all they want to do is prepare us for high school and the rest of our lives!!!They have great teachers and great students!!! and remember everyone is someone at summit!!!
Our family moved to Edmond from Colorado with a child going into the 6th grade. She was welcomed and treated very well at this school. The teachers are helpful and the students are nice. I would recommend this school to anyone moving here.
Summit is a school all about the kids. 'Everyone is someone at Summit.' That is what it says! They pay attention to all areas of the childs life. The administrators listen and take action. All types of art is expressed at this amazing schoool.
Summit is a great school. I am a new student and it has been easy for me to adjust to Summit because the students, teachers, and administrators are all very kind!!! If you are moving to Edmond and have a middle-schooler, or a child who is younger than middle school age, then I would HIGHLY recommend moving to a house inside of the Summit boundaries!!!
So far I have been impressed with Summit. The teachers seem to be eager to teach and supportive. I'm really pleased with how the staff tries to keep parents informed. Initiating the K12 Planet, sending out Progress Reports every three weeks is a plus. Keep up the good work.
