I don't agree with the person who said that if your child has a learning disability, Emmerson isn't the place for your child. My son is autistic (high function) and they are so great to him. He's blossoming and doing just great. I just wish that they had a bus system to get the kids to and from school! We live across town from the school and we have to drive him - both my husband and I work. That is my only critisim.

I don't think this school is all that great at all. I went there in my 7th grade year I had the worst year of my life not very good staff. Good teaching skills. Some of the staff can be a little rude.

My son has attended Emerson for two years and is in the enriched program. We are involved in the PTSA and I can honestly say that Emerson has an administrative staff that cares about the students. Discipline has improved greatly in the two years. Our son enjoys Emerson and is excelling on National testing. He reports that several of his friends wish they could transfer to Emerson.

The school is not for children who has a learning disability because their are too many studednts and not enough teachers to give individual help so I had to look at alternative education for my daughter.

My son attended this school and it was poor in academic area. The school lacked the dicipline that the teens needed to have a positive and safe enviornment. Walking in the halls was commen in this school because the teachers would be too scared to put their foot down and tell the students no. My son did not excell in this school due to the distractions. We weighed our options and decided to leave him at this school until we PCS.
