My daughter has attended Fletcher Elementary for two years and has had an excellent experience. Her teachers and the principle truly care about the children. At her prior school she frequently came home in tears and didn't want to go, the past two years almost every day is "awesome". She has made the honor roll every semester.

My sone came from a Title 1 School. He is now doing work that he had done the previous year. This school does not challege the students. My son was also in a TAG class. This school offers it but dod not put my child in the class. Why? He is smarter than they want to think. They did not even request his grades from the other school nor looked in his file to see what type of student he is. It is not fair to keep him at the other students level when he is above that. Why should I have to keep him back from excelling when he is not behind but ahead???

I transferred my daughter out of a Title I school to Fletcher Elementary. I was told four days before school is out that my daughter was behind the class in writing. I find it odd that my daughter has completed handwriting workbooks and simply cannot believe that she is behind. My daughter although in pre-k, was doing Kindergarden work at the previous school. Her teacher contacted me and told me she was above her other students. And so I had to go in for a parent teacher conference with her pre-k teacher and the kindergarden teacher. I had to give my permission for my daughter to be able to do Kindergarden level work at age 4 to challenge her. I was all for this and now I'm being told my daughter is behind other students, but only in handwriting. I simply think she is bored and not challenging her ability.

This was the first year my children attended public school. The teachers and staff at Fletcher Elementary were great at helping my kids make the transition and have a great school year!
