I graduated from Henryetta High School after attending k-11th grades at a nearby school. The environment at HHS was very positive. The students seemed to be happy but not unruly and every class was enjoyable but challenging. The teachers were superb, the Lackey's are expecially talented and are a huge asset to this district. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would not hesitate to send my child to HHS.

The school itself is average at best. The principal and current counselor are aloof at best. The teachers seem to be average or even slightly above. A change at the top concerning personnel would make this an above average school. The clerical/management errors made by the principal and counselor are not conducive to warrant a higher rating.

The special education department is the best, my grandson came here from California and all he could do was trace his name, within 6 weeks here he was writing his name without help! He has grown in other ways that can be seen in him in every aspect of life. Thank you Henryetta for giving this child a new start in life!

About the tests

In 2008-2009 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction (OCCT EOI) exams to test students in high school in several subjects. The results for reading and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The OCCT EOI is a high school graduation requirement. The OCCT EOI exams are standards-based tests, which means they measure specific skills defined for each subject by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
