We love Lawton Christian School! My husband and I love that Biblical values are structured into each class and that the class sizes are small enough for each child to get the special attention he or she deserves. We have taken our daughter there for the past five years and are extremely pleased with our daughter's academic progress and the school staff. The concern for each student and parent at Lawton Christian School is quite impressive. Although our commute to school is 25 minutes one way, it is well worth the drive. We cannot imagine our daughter going to any other school because we firmly believe that the Christian foundation that is being laid at Lawton Christian School will not be found in any other school. This school is more than a Christian school by name but each teacher and staff member we have encountered in our five years there exhibit a true love for Jesus Christ and that was very important to us. Lawton Christian School is not your typical school; it is a family. Team Weary

We were blessed to have our daughter at LCS from preschool through twelfth grade. Thanks to wonderful teachers, small class sizes, and the ample extra-curricular opportunities she had a very full and well-rounded school experience. We have the utmost respect for their faculty and staff and found that they were not only great teachers, but wonderful Christian mentors as well. If you are looking for the complete package in Christian education in Lawton, Oklahoma start by checking out LCS.

I have parented three children for twelve years through LCS. Initially, I was concerned about the academic failings of the public school system and looked to Lawton Christian to better serve my children. Indeed, they began to read and started learning to print as early as Pre-K. However, I came to appreciate the Christian environment as much as the accelerated academics. My kids played basketball... actually played, which is something they probably wouldn't have done if they were in public schools because none of them were particularly gifted in sports. LCS often invited speakers specifically gifted in the art of connecting to kids and today, my kids know the Bible better than I. The high school counselor was instrumental in finding over a half a million dollars in scholarships for one daughter. (No, that's not a typo). Unfortunately, we were obliged to move across the country to an area known for it's "liberal" perspectives before my last son graduated. His Christian education held him in good stead as he witnessed outright disrespect and considerable ungodliness at the public high school where we live. I'm truly thankful for our tenure at LCS and will forever remain so.

My son has attended Lawton Christian School since the 3rd grade, he is now in the 8th grade. I love the Christian experience and education he is receiving. The teachers have a lower teacher student ratio therefore they have more time to spend with each student. They know each student personally. It is a warm loving family atmosphere, that allows the students to grow their mind, body and spirit. I cannot imagine my son attending school anywhere other thank Lawton Christian School.

My 5th grade teacher sent me to detention for not raising my hand. Like seriously Not Raising My Hand. And I spent office detention and lunch detention in the office. And if your coming here the pre-k ibthink us 200-300$. Elementary 4,780-5,000 if you have two or more children that's how much.High school is 4,780-5,000. If u have three or more children that's 8,000& Up. And the principal just sits there on her computer trying to get kids in trouble. And during the 2013-2014 year the 5th grade & 6th grade teacher were trying to get you in trouble. The 5th grade teacher she made the whole class run the whole recess. 6th grade She wants everybody in trouble and she has FAVORITES. But the P.E. teacher is Like The Best. The Music teacher is strict. The Computers in fun. Art is kinda fun. But P.E. is the best. So don't send your child HERE!

I cannot begin to tell you the love we have for LCS Pre-school. We were a little scared to send our three year old to school, but it turned out to be amazing. The administrators, teachers, and staff make it a HUGE point and priority to love and teach each child as their own. They not only have helped my son grow academically, in character, emotionally, and spiritually; but have helped and guided me to be a better parent. We love our LCS Pre-School family that we will be continuing our growth with our youngest son as well.

We love this school. My son just finished his first year in K3. He is a high energy child that needs a lot of attention, so I was nervous about sending him to school at all. The teachers, and especially the principal, at Lawton Christian made me confident that my son would be fine. The small class size is a huge plus. Everyone there, not just the teachers, seem to have a great attitude and come willing to serve. They genuinely love kids and love to see them succeed. The school is very structured and they give great progress reports to let you know where your child is at developmentally. What I like best about this school is the open communication between the staff and the parents. They are never too busy to listen to your concerns and find out how they can help with any issues your child might be going through. They have been a huge blessing to our family.

Lawton Christian School is more than an exceptional learning institution. It is a sanctuary for education, prayer, and worship of the true and living God. Sending our children to LCS, my husband and I know we are helping to support kingdom building ministry, which ministers to our children and influences our home. Through the tools gained at Lawton Christian school, both academically and spiritually, our children have the guaranteed potential to positively impact friends, community, and this world.

Lawton Christian has been a wonderful school for my family. As my 3 children have gone on to college, they have excelled in academics, maintained their faith in Christ, and serve their respective communities in selfless ways. Thanks, LCS!

This school is not welcoming to people of all faiths and denominations. If you go in and you mention you are of another particular faith they make it very difficult to the point of discouraging you to attend. First of all, they should not even ask you what religion you are because that is discrimination from the start even before registering.

The school has good intentions but they're top priority is honestly money. If you enroll your child you'll start seeing they ask for more and more cash for the most random things and charge you pointless fees if you chew gum or have your shirt untucked. Honestly this school is a joke you can teach your child Christian values yourself. You'll see. God bless.

My child has been a part of Lawton Christian school for 15 years (K3 - 12th grade). He has had his faith nurtured through daily Bible classes and weekly chapels, has made lifetime friendships, and has received an accelerated academic education compared to the local public schools. Lawton Christian School has consistently produced ACT scores higher than the public school averages in all areas and the students have no difficulty getting into the college of their choosing. The faculty goes out of their way to offer helps classes when needed and make accommodations for students who need additional assistance. Allowing students to attend concurrent enrollment during the junior and senior year has been invaluable in helping guide my child toward his intended college major. I strongly recommend Lawton Christian School for families who desire a partnership in enhancing their child's Christian character development and a quality education.

I went to LCS as a student from 89-94. Based on my experience, if you "just stop to check it out," then you are going there. I was wanting to shop around for schools some before deciding where to go, but the then-owner teamed up with my Mom and wouldn't let me leave until I signed up for either LCS or LCS homeschool. (He was really mean about it too. ) You might want to talk to people who go there before checking the school out - just a warning. On the positive, several things that concerned me back then have been resolved over the years. They made school spankings optional. The building where they meet now looks really nice. They have band, they have prom (I think), they have football. Points of concern - looks like they have uniforms. (No jeans, tee shirts, tennis shoes. ) They still go by the "Crusaders," which is concerning due to all the problems in the Middle East. In summary, it appears as if there have been many positive changes, but definitely talk to people first before checking it out.

Bringing my child here was the best decision we could have made. We are just coming to this school for the 2012-2013 school year and starting in the Secondary (middle and high school) building. I suspect I would have taken this school for granted if we had not lived thru such negative experiences in the past at another school. My child has been able to learn the basics in addition to character development and scriptures. The teachers are excellent role models that really do care about their students. Yes, there have been some interpersonal complications because young teens do not always act appropriately no matter where they are. What I loved was that we were able to communicate our concerns and reach an agreement on how to handle it where we as the parent were unified with the administration of the school. My child is not only learning academics, but he's learning how to be a better person. Parental involvement is openly encouraged and welcomed.

APPEARANCES SOMETIMES CAN BE DECEIVING... As parents we were looking for a Christian based school that will provide our child with an environment of respect, love and care together with education and tools to succeed as a future young adult. The sale strategy is very good but the taste after the purchase is horrible. Our child walked out of Lawton Christian with the opposite concepts to our expectations. It's sad to make the effort and pay for private education to have the same issues than at a public school or even worse. Choosing a school is a serious matter and we don't believe LCS will satisfy your needs neither your child's.

We are new to Lawotn Oklahoma and is very well pleased with Lawton Christian School our son was attending a public school here in Lawton and it was a nightmare. I thank God for Lawton Christian,we have never in the least bet felt uncomfortable or have my husband & I felt as though we have. The entire staff welcomed us with open arms when we first visited the school and still does . When ever we mention that our son attends Lawton Christian we ALWAYS receive a positive response from people who have been in Lawton for years. We are please to have our son attend Lawton Christian.

I have to say that the gossip mongering that goes on in this school is unrivaled. I considered sending my child to this school before St. Marys offered the High school option. Never have I witnessed a more unwelcoming group of people in my life. Also, as a bystander at a local gymnastics venue, I have heard teachers talk badly about students and fellow parents talk badly about the school itself. Lawton Christian may have accredidation NOW, but they weren't always accredited. As a Catholic, I felt very unwelcomed at Lawton Christian, however St. Marys is accepting of all faiths. If you want to teach your child snobbery, then this is the school for you. Their views are biased and the most unchristian views that I have seen.

I can't say I'm very happy with LCS preschool. My child wasn't given much of a chance before he was dismissed.I was never told just how bad his behavior was or given an opportunity for correction.Four days after dismissal, after much stress and tears from my child who wanted to go to school,I finally discovered he thought school was about playing, having fun After talking with him a bit he got the message. He is now attending a different preschool that uses the same cirriculum and willing to work with me and him. They have had zero bad reports as to his behavior and are at a loss as to why he was given such a small amount of time to adjust and why I wasn't given the opportunity to find and correct the problem. This was a surprise to many of the teachers I spoke with who work in public and private schools including Christian schools. LCS is probably a fine school but as far as our experience they are not very knowledgeable on how to deal with children that don't fit the model and not really willing to work with their parents eventhough led to believe otherwise. In a nutshell my child was not cost efficient in terms of time and money when they could fill the slot with a child that 'fit'.

Lawton Christian is a great school. They have taught my children great Christian values and they have an Academic program that is preparing my 3 children for college. The teachers are dedicated and the classroom sizes are small[ 15-20 students( for the 10 years that my children have attended the school).]

LCS is a diamond in the rough. The academic rigor here is unparalleled. I am so fortunate that my children attend LCS. The charater that it teaches and expects from every student, teacher and administrator. The staff models integrity evey day as it imparts knowledge to its students. It is a pleasure to walk through the halls of this school and see the learning and love that takes place in each and every classroom. Great job LCS!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
