Mazie Elementary School has a very caring faculty. I substitute teach in the school district and am a certified teacher. Many of the children who attend Mazie have special needs in academics. The school tries to keep up with technology, but lack of funding is a challenge. Also because of funding, Mazie doesn't have a full time librarian for the library. There is a rich cultural diversity in the small school; half the student population is Amish, and there are several Hispanic, Native American and African American students. There are very few discipline problems and high parental involvement.
