My older children attended Ridgecrest now my younger ones are there as well. I have had no problems with the teachers or the principal at the current time. In the past prior to Mr. Piggie I did have some concerns with the prior principal sterotyping parents on account of there lifestyle or work ethics, which I was totally offended. The following year I had learned that he moved to another school which I was glad to hear. I am an involved parent who communicates with all my childrens teachers on a weekly basis. The only issue I have with Ridgecrest is, I do not feel that the children a getting a good fully balanced meal on a daily basis, a muffin an milk before school is not a balanced meal for kids, I feel sorry for those parents who do not feed there children prior to coming to school.

My older children attended this school and now my younger ones do. This was the best school around. When I volunteered or spent time on PTA, the lack of parental involvement is apparent. The teachers were a clost knit group of great people but most of them have been run off by the lack of support by the principal. He apparently tells parents what they want to hear. The test scores are ok and the safety ok but to get Ridgecrest 'back' we may need a principal from the area who has a true interest in Mid-Del. Our current principal is very kind to the students and they love him but it takes more.

I am a parent and I taught school in OKC Public Schools for 10 years and My wife has taught 17 years in Moore. We bought a house in the neighborhood because Ridgecrest was the best in Mid-Del. Over the last 7 years we have been sorely disappointed. The teaching style has not changed since I was in elementary school in the 1970's and we only get lip service from the principal. We are poorly informed i.e., today is picture day. We did not know it until my wife dropped the kids off and there was a handwritten sign taped to a stop sign. I know of several OKC schools I would rather have my kids.

I am a student from ridgecrest and it has some of the best acedemics, sports , and music classes that I have ever seen. If you are looking for a school to enroll your child in, Ridgecrest Elementary is a great school to choose.

Ridgecrest used to be considered one of the best schools in the district. My children have attended for four years. Most of the teachers have been kind and understanding and my children trived under their care. But within the last two years, there have been many serious situations that have occured on school grounds that have impacted the whole school environment. Parental involvement is no longer encouraged by the principal. Most 'extras' in the school have been eliminated. My children no longer want to attend.
