Liberty High School
Grateful to: Teacher

Trina Evans and Chad Eads are exceptional teachers who do a great job at what they do. They are loved and respected by the students, faculty and parents. There is never a doubt that they are great teachers AND that they care about the students future, mind and spirit.

Teacher effectiveness: Very ineffective

Great teachers become lazy due to a lazy, inefficient and ineffective school administration. They do not make sure the teachers are effectively teaching the subject and that the students are engaged in the learning process and are grasping the concepts.

None given. You cannot judge as a parent how your child is grasping the concepts.

They put lazy kids on computer work at home or let them sign out to "home school" instead of teaching them to persevere.

They do not lead by example. They enforce an atmosphere of fear not of respect and certainly not of integrity.

They are about covering up their misgivings in administration and enforcing fear in students. Not setting good example.

They do not hire, teach, inspire, or require honest, good example, integrity worthy teachers or staff.

As a parent AND former employee of this district, I know full well BOTH sides of the coin when it comes to this district. There is a very small handful of great teachers who do a great job teaching and who strive to see the kids learn and succeed. However, most teachers only prepare for the state tests, do the minimum required of them, do not communicate with the parents, do not keep their online gradebook up to date, and do not show a care or any passion for seeing the kids be successful. The Administration backs the teachers no matter what - regardless of right or wrong. They cover up their wrongdoings to the detriment of the students. The Superintendent is overpaid and deviant. People in education should be there for the students! They should have no place there if not! The state board of education needs to clean house at LPS. The COMMUNITY of Liberty is wonderful but the school system sucks!

A great small school where every teacher knows your child's name. The band and basketball programs are fantastic. My son ran track, played basketball, and joined Academic Team. In the seventh grade he took the ACT and scored so high he was invited into the Duke TIP program. Every student is checked out a MacBook in the fall. There are no drugs, bullying, or gangs. This is a place where your kid can shine.

This school claims to want to do the best for the children. I do not see it. Last year they had a drama program my daughter loved, she tried to get in it, they canceled the class for the 2012-2013 school year. She asked for AG, but that doesn't fit into her schedule. She asked for Computers. That doesn't fit into her schedule. They put her into ART and she hates to draw. She never even liked to color as a small child. We are transferring out ASAP. That is why we are researching schools in the area! My son will also change schools. He has been in the same learning disability class for 4 years and has yet to improve 1 bit. I am told that he cannot learn, but I can see that he can. So, I will be transferring him along with his sister. I am just too upset with this school. They claim to have gone to a 4 day week schedule to save money, but many of the children still have to go on Monday because they are not getting the education they need. This school STINKS WORSE THAN A PIG SPRAYED BY A SKUNK!!!!!
