I must say I was stunned by some of the reviews for this school. I have a child there right now and I have been very impressed with the education he is receiving. He had a wonderful 4th grade teacher and loves going to his 5th grade class. I am glad I was able to come across this website and see some of the reviews. I would say that if most people were to comment on this school, the overall rating would be much higher than the negative comments that have been made. Do most people that have positives to say go to the board meetings or those that want their voice to be heard on a complaint? I feel this may be the same type of postings that are going on. Most of the times, negative comments will be made, because people like me that seem pleased with the school, take it as the norm. I do agree that there are some subtle changes that need to be made that could make the school climate more conducive to students, but overall, I am pleased with the education that my child is receiving at Pioneer.
Like the last reviewer, I pulled my child out as well - after one month. My child, a straight 'A' student, was absolutely miserable here. After one short month at this school, she went from loving to read and learn to being 'sour' on learning and reading. We pulled her out to save her - and my own - sanity. The overall atmosphere of the place was negative. Not being allowed to talk at lunch? Getting yelled 'Shut up!' at by the principal? Forcing to throw your lunch in the trash if you did talk? Not for us! Yes, the office staff needs an 'attitude adjustment' - rude. To be fair, some people love this school. We didn't.
I pulled my son out of this school after just a few months. I couldn't believe how poor it was. Teacher communication=poor. Patience with ADD children=bad! Office staff needs an attitude adjustment. My sons teacher even 'forgot' to record his grades for 'missing' assignments, and he ended up doing work 2-3 times before I realized what was happening!!! This school is just bad all-around!
This is the worst school in the district. I have to talked to many other parents who share my opinion. (some of whom are teachers in the noble district) I would highly recommend homeschooling your child or taking them to another district to avoid putting them here. I have had 2 children go through this school and next year my third will be homeschooled to avoid all of the problems. The Safety of your child is in extreme jepoardy if you choose to let them attend Pioneer.
I see many areas of improvement for the school. I feel that the general day to day business could be better. The staff is wonderful, with the exception of one or two. My son has enjoyed his time at Pioneer.
As a parent who's last child is due to leave this school this year, I would like to say thank you to the staff, all of them at Pioneer. You have made learning wonderful for my children! My Husband also attended this school as a child, and had some of the teacher's that my Children had. It makes me feel good knowing that whatever concerns I have are addressed. The Principal is a wonderful person, so are both ladies up front in the office. The teaching staff are fantastic. I am proud to have attended Noble Schools and to have my Children attend them as well.
My son was a student here and was in the IEP class and the teacher said he was on grade level in 6th grade but the next year when he went to the Jr high he was way below grade level. He was suppose to be tested his 6th grade to continue with the IEP program but wasn't. As a matter of fact a lot of the students that were supposed to be tested for IEP were not tested.
