The school is in bad shape in terms of physical condition but the level of education that my child receives is GREAT! The Board of education needs to prioritize their spending and help out schools like Eugene Field. During the summer is HOT and during the winter....there is no HEAT....wth The teachers are GREAT, especiall Mrs. Hong Lam. She is probably the best teacher in the district. My kids came into her class with low grades.....by the end of the year, they were right on track and even more prepared and willing to tackle the next grade. Just because the school is in a so called 'poor area', doesn't mean that the level of education is like that.

Some people have the wrong impression of Eugene Field. The school has been looked down upon due to the location of the school. So what! The school has many great teachers and has some very intelligent children.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests (OCCT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science and writing. The OCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
