West Nichols Hills Elementary. We went through some very difficult times with our child last year with severe anxiety issues and the principal, teachers and counselors were excellent in helping us through this. I can't say enough about how grateful we are that he was attending WNH.

I agree this is an incredible school and the first one I had to deal with beginning with PK my daughter did well and enjoyed school from there we made a drastic move to Topeka Ks where good schools are few and far between up to my standards, luckily we moved into a good school district and now we need to move again and are very scared of the school district.

My little girl love this school, the teachers her friends. Every morning she is up and ready (can't wait to get there) !! If you ever have the time Mrs. Rosenthal , please just go and observe the children, treachers and the principle. This is my daughters 3rd year there and hopefully she will get to go through 5th grade. Proud parent of a straight A 3rd grader (only because of Mrs. Warrior, Mrs. Leverett, and Mrs. Anderson)

WNH's is a wonderful school! The Principal cares about his students and knows each of them by name! How many Principals can say that?? If you are looking for an excellent school for your children, WNH is that school!

I have two children currently attending West Nichols Hills in kindergarten and first grade. My first grader is reading on a third grade level, and my kindergartner can read the books her big sister brings home. Many of my friends who have children in other schools are amazed at what my kids have learned from school. This school encourages learning as well as good behavior. WNH is an exemplary school, and I'm proud to have my kids be 'wildcats.'

This school is very well managed compared to other elementary schools we've attended. The principal keeps us updated about school activities weekly via an email newsletter. Our son's teacher and the principal respond to email promptly and thoughtfully, and work with us to help our son get the most out of his education. We are extremely satisfied.

West Nichols Hills has turned my little 'school hater' into a 'school lover' ! She has attended 2 other elementary schools in 2 other states and has had great difficulty adjusting both academically and behaviorally. I don't know exactly what the change is due to, but she has only nice things to say about her 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Culbreath. Also, the school is small; so small the principal knows my childs' first name! I like that.

My son is a transfer to West Nichols Hill and i have never been so happy in his progress and the involvement in teachers and parents. The principal has set an example of involvement that every principal should set.

There is a new principal at WNH's and he is great. I have seen several improvements already and we are only at the end of the first nine weeks. This is a great school for your children to attend.

This school is a breath of fresh air! We feel comfortable contacting not only our children's classroom teachers, but their principal as well. This school holds awards assemblies each month! Where else are students recognized for academic progress, good behsavior, etc. this frequently? This school exemplifies the phrase, one big, happy family.

Miss Stellman in Pre-K is great. I agree that the principal has her 'own way', I was told information at the school board from the lady over it all, but was told different information coming from the principal and told she tries to over-ride what the admin. says. I also had all of my paper work in ahead of time to enroll my son in the after school/daycare program but when it came time to start school, all of my papers were 'mis-placed' Luckily I had not dis-enrolled him in the current one. And one last, the web site for the school, has not been updated since 4/2004..this is almost the end of 10/2004 and a whole new school year. Thank God for Miss Stellman..I feel she is a really great teacher, cares about her students, and my son seems to really be learning from her.

I think this school is basically good--but the principal leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the students are on tranfer and she seems to like playing 'god' whether than can continue there or get a letter during the summer.

My son has had nothing but issues since he has been going to WHN. The teachers and the Principle have very little patience for these children and the staff could really use some improvement. My son is no saint but the teaching level is very poor and I am concerned about the education of the children going to this school.

DeWayne Fisher, 4th grade teacher, is the best teacher I have ever known. There are definitely a couple of teachers I pray my child doesn't get but most would be very good. My child received a very good elementary education at WNH.
