This school does have challenging academic program and arts program. However, the leadership at this school is NOT strong. They are generally unavailable, or unwilling to get involved when there's a problem. A number of the teachers use foul language, or have no control of their classrooms. They also refuse to test children for learning problems, insisting that "we can handle it ourselves" (not), or "they're just being lazy" (again, not). If you're looking for a school where communication is key, stay far away from Classen!

Middle school english, science, foreign language teachers excellent and cover syllabus well. Math reasonable. Social studies not covered systematically at all. Excellent opportunities for participation in science fairs, essay competititions, math quizzes. Excellent availability of music, art, speech, drama classes as the school offers a separate IB (Academic) track as well as a VPA (visual/arts) track, with overlap possible. Good level of parent involvement via the PA and web communication.
