Response to the parent that has their son in enrichment activities & classes outside of school. Based on what you explained, your son loves Science, I wanted to possibly help. If a subject isn't taught at a level that is satisfying to someone, it is most likely because the State & Federal Standards, as well as standardized testing, do not allow for teachers to spend time on subjects like Science and Social Studies, however vital they may be. Common Core, being implemented now into the PCSD has a HUGE push for Reading, Writing, Math, & repeat! If teachers want to bring in Science, they would only be able to do it through the avenue of Reading, Writing, or Math. Unfortunately, for kiddos like your son, who has a passion for this subject, legislation does not favor his interests. Teachers have much to accomplish each day. Teaching, daily duties, parental communication, meetings, e-mails, phone calls, paperwork, testing, lesson plans, professional development, these things are only the tip of the ice berg! Maybe he would do well at a magnet type school or private school where subjects like Science are truly INCREDIBLE and available! Good luck to you both!!

Great school that embraces diversity and challenges the students daily. My daughter is in her 4th year there and I don't think I could have chosen a better school for her to attend!

Not Safe. Not organized. Not challenging. Or as my child puts it, 'boring'. This is a kid who is a self proclaimed scientist and has a strong thirst for learning. We have had to supplement with outside classes.

Hello to all I'd like to take the time to tell you about Windsor Hills Elementary School.I have 2 children attending now and will have another one ready to go for 2006-2007 school year.I think it is great when a parent can be involved with the school. I think it is excellent when the teachers tell you feed back on what is going on in the classrooms. It's nice to know that when you walk in the staff, and teachers will respond to you by telling you Hello or ask how you are doing. My children have been to other schools in Oklahoma City and other states and we are proud to say that Windsor Hills Elementary is our school we go to because it truley is the greatest school and is like a second home to us because that is how they treat you like you are part of there family.

My family has been at Windsor Hills since 1999. We have been very pleased with the teachers, staff, and PTA. We are very sad to be leaving and any other school will have a very hard time measuring up to Windsor Hills. The teachers and parents are very involved both academically and socially. Art, music, and sports are very much encouraged at Windsor Hills. There are several opportunities to help students that are struggling with reading and writing. Students are given lots of leadership roles in the 4th and 5th grades. We were also involved with the Wildcat Clubhouse before and after school childcare which was convenient and inexpensive. My children and I loved everything about Windsor Hills.

This is by far the best elementary school I have attended. I did attend 3. The teachers were helpful, the staff and faculty was reasonable. There were great art, music, and P.E. programs. There were many groups to join and activities to participate in. My mother was a member of the PTA and it seems that the parental involvement was at an acceptable level. A good school.
