I had the privilege of teaching at SHCS for the past 7 years. It was an amazing place. I saw students evolve from non-learners to excel in academics. Several of my former students now attend OU, OSU, Rice, and other major schools. I am proud to attest to the quality of Sacred Heart Catholic School.
Mrs. Camacho retired this year as principal. In her twelve year tenure, she probably made a lot of enemies. Her no-nonsense approach toward parental, student, and teacher responsibility were instrumental to the success of the school. I am honored to have worked with her.
ELL (English Language Learner) students in particular have an almost fatalistic perception of failure. SHCS stresses teaching the individual child. I cannot count the number of "failures" who have succeeded here.
This school was good until the new principal and Secretary came along. Like the review below me Comacho and Brown Nievez are really rude and they both have favorites they are only nice to them but treat everyone else like outcasts.
This is the best school my children have ever attened. The teachers are all wonderful and the principal is awsome. I wish I had found this school sooner and saved my children and myself a lot of stress. If you are looking for the perfect school for you children, catholic or non catholic they will be welcome with open arms and all kids are treated equal. I am so glad I have finally found the right school for my kids.
