Handles bullying effectively: Strongly agree

There have been a few cases of misbehavior of students of which I'm aware, and the students were removed from the school or appropriately handled.

Supports LD students: Strongly agree

Because it's a Montessori school, the teachers are able to cater the education to each student based on the student's own capabilities and needs.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

They come from diverse backgrounds and are able to provide a wonderful education to all of the students. They are all incredibly caring and bring out the best in each of the kids.

Amount of homework: Strongly agree

It is introduced very slowly into the children's curriculum.

Our daughter has done nothing but blossom under the care and tutelage of the teachers here. She has been at this school since she was a three-year old, and after six months she was counting in different languages and had become quite familiar with the alphabet. She is now capable of sounding out words, which is quite impressive for this age! Her teachers are very compassionate about each student, which is obvious to see with the morning drop-off as well as with the after-school care. We really love that the students receive individual assessments throughout the year which helps us, as parents, to determine which areas are stronger and weaker in our daughter's growth. These teachers are incredibly well-versed in helping children from all types of backgrounds and learning abilities. Our daughter is very fortunate to have this learning experience, and it will really set the best foundation any of us could ask for in preparation for her future.

This school should not be able to call itself a Montessori school. The kids watch so much tv all day. When we first toured they said it was on for a few minutes in the morning and late afternoon, but nearly every time we went in, no matter the time of day, at least one class was all parked in front of a tv. It is one of the more expensive options in the area, and it was frustrating to know that we were paying so much money for them to sit him in front of the tv.

There are so many positives to this school, to name a few: hours, location, tuition, storm shelter, outdoor area, and social events for parents to attend with our children. All of these things matter but what really makes this school great is the culture, philosophy, quality of staff, and the director. They really do consider each child and family and make it a personal experience. My son transitioned here from an in-home day care and he loves it. He has just the right amount of personal attention, social interaction, and structure. It is an environment that helps teach him to make good choices on his own while being guided by his teachers and classmates. I would recommend this school to anyone. Additionally, the other parents and students that attend seem very engaged and happy.

Fabulous school! Wonderful environment with incredible teachers and staff. Our boys have loved every minute of their time there.

Words cannot describe how this school has changed our life for the better. I'm sad that it's time to change schools for our baby girl. She's growing up:) but I must say I believe she's ready for the next chapter. I feel Denise and Keith aren't running a school but a family. They have always been very welcoming and accommodating to us as well as the other parents. They helped shaped my daughters life and I cant thank them enough. I would give 10 stars if I could.

We were extremely disappointed in the integrity, communication, and dedication to the development of our niece. We would not recommend Village Montessori to anyone with a child exhibiting slight behavioral or developmental issues as our experience taught us they are not equipped to handle these children. (Please read on for more details of our experience.) My fianc and I obtained guardianship of our niece last December. During the four months we were enrolled at VM we met with the teachers on numerous occasions. We expressed the need for consistency with her environment (due to the neglect that had occurred).... and instead they moved her from classroom to classroom looking for a "better fit"...making these changes before even speaking with us.... and further disrupting her need for consistency = security. In the end, they classified a four-year-old little girl (adjusting to a new family and just taken from her mother) as "spiteful and vindictive" -- to which all of our pediatric specialists, who have been with us since the beginning, completely disagree.
