I am truly impressed with this school and everyone who works there. I am always greated with much enthusiasm when I enter the office...the office staff just bubbles over with kindness and is so willing to help me with any problems that I mght have. The teachers are remarkable especially the third grade team. They are truly dedicated to the children and work hard to individualize there lessons to meet the childrens specific needs. I love the way they are teaching reading. I was worried at first but kudos to them...it is working!!! ~A Greatful Parent

I am shocked by the horrible responses I have read on this board. That is why I have to speak out in regards to the teaching practices that Sooner Elementary is enforcing. I have a child in kindergarten and I believe that my daughter is there to learn, not to play. I want her to have the best education she can get and I believe that is with Sooner Elemetary. I am very impressed with her teacher, Ms. Chancellor. She demonstrates a good rold model and she is very focused on the children's educations. Kudos!

This is my children's second year at Sooner. It will also be their last. The one bright spot at sooner would be Mrs. Martin (5th grade teacher). My daughter had her for fifth grade, and I was extremely pleased with Mrs. Martin's caring and involvement with the children.

We have been at this school for nearly six months and neither my wife nor I have had one good meeting with its staff. The one bright thing the school has going for it is its specials staff who, in my opinion, are working above and beyond the rest.

My children have been going to sooner since my oldest started in kindergarten and she is now in the high school. I still have two kids in the school and I have been very pleased with the school, during class parties there is always more parents then we need to work and that is the greatest if you ask me. The staff is always realy nice and ready to help you in anyway. I have recomended this school to other people I know. I just cant say enough good stuff about this school. Keep up the good work guys. Give yourself a pat on the back you all deserve it.

My son attended Sooner last year and is going to attend again this year. My son is very enthusiastic attending Sooner again! His teacher was excellent last year and really challenged him. He made all A's for the year and had minimal issues adjusting to the 'strictness' of Sooner. My son is going into 3rd grade and is reading at almost a 6th grade level. This is attributed to his teacher AND his parents being involved in his school work. I think the strictness is well needed in the world today, with the exception of the cafeteria. I think that needs to be toned down some. On another note, I too have noticed how the office staff is not as pleasant as I think they should be and maybe some of them will see these reviews and work on their 'smiles' and 'greetings' a little this year.

I find Sooner Elementary's principal, faculty, staff, and PTA to be student oriented, helpful and friendly. The students at Sooner are expected to exhibit good manners, appropriate behavior and stive for academic excellence. I am happy to be associated with a school with such high standards. I find the office staff to be friendly and willing to assist in helping parents, teachers and students. Thanks to the dedicated principal and Special Ed. teachers who do bus duty each day in all weather conditions...you are the BEST! S.E.D.

After reading the different reviews of Sooner Elementary, I feel compelled to write a review of my own. I have been involved with this elementary school for two years and I have found the office staff to be very helpful every time I've asked. I feel they have one of the hardest positions in a school because they have to deal with students, parents and the teaching staff. They are always working hard to make Sooner a safe environment to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere. I am pleased with this elementary school and would be proud to let any of my children attend here. I feel that the students leave with not only an excellent education, but also with respect for their peers and educators. I am also very impressed with the special education staff because they work well as a team to promote learning. s.e.d.

After reading some of the past reviews, I felt compelled to respond about the office staff. I feel that they have one of the most difficult jobs in the school. They are required to work with parents, students and teachers while still keeping the school safe and secure. I have had many pleasant experiences with the office staff. They are always willing to assist me in anything I may need. I feel that Sooner is one of the best elementary schools in the Oklahoma City area. Any student that attends there would leave with not only an excellent education, but also be a well rounded member of society. I truly appreciate the office staff and teachers at this school. s.e.d.

I moved into the Moore school district because I was told that it was one of the best in the area. If I could do it over, I would stay far away from this school. Maybe the other schools in the district are fine, but Sooner is not one of them. I am not impressed with the professionalism of the office staff all the way down. My child wakes up every morning telling me he hates school. He's in the 1st Grade! I, too, have experienced the abruptness of the office staff. They treat you as if you are interrupting them. To say the school is strict is an understatement. They seem to care more for the test scores than the children themselves. Their discipline tool of choice is in-school suspension. The only thing that seems to do give the teacher a break. I can't wait to move!

My question is,'Where are the ballots to vote for administrator of the year'? 'She' has won it more than once and I've not met one person who would vote for her. Someone please let me know where I can vote! Teachers have been amazing thus far but I'm going to have to agree about the VERY unpleasant staff they have working in the office. I'm afraid to call to check my child out early!

Our child has attended Sooner Elementary for two years now, after transfering from a private school. We are overall pleased with the academic curriculum this school has to offer. The security of the children is definately on the top of the list at this school. This school has very strict cafeteria rules (I find them a bit excessive). As far as the office staff, they definately make you feel as if you are a bother to them. The principal is hard to deal with and not open to suggestions!

My son has gone to Sooner Elementary for three years now and I must say that it has been a good experience. The teachers are great. They are very helpful and they really care about the students. The office staff isn't very cordial. Often times you get a 'hello' as if 'why are you bothering me?' Overall, I am pleased with my son's education and look forward to seeing his progress.

I have a child at Sooner and have found the teachers and administrators to be very helpful. My child has special needs and the school works very hard to meet them.

I'm a single Mother with 3 boys attending Sooner elementary. My youngest went to Kindergarden PM class and Mrs. Chanceller was one of the most careing and devoted teachers we have ever had. Mrs. Martin is another wonderfully devoted teacher. Although we were reported for our attendance, I never felt like we were that bad. We did have alot of problems with [the] bus driver! We did good to wake-up on time, and if we were on the porch...she still drove on by. I had to chase her down numerous times even to get my kid from the bus because only 2 would get off. Also she drove off from school leaveing a few students from different grades behind, they had to ride the short bus home. That`s unnecessary all the way around. Sooner is a strict school and take academics seriously. That is the most important thing. We are proud to be attending Sooner Elementary.
