My Daughter has attended the Oologah-talala school system since Pre-K. I was happy with her progress until she started middle school this past year. The homework is so excessive that she never has free time to do anything else after school, but homework. She has put on 20lbs. since last fall. She had to quit soccer just so she could do homework everynight! As a parent with a college degree I have a difficult time understanding why so much homework is necessary. Is it because the instructors are not doing their jobs and shoving it off on the parents to complete at home? I rarely had homework when I was an adolescent and I managed to make it through four years of college and graduate. I am wondering why so much homework is needed. I don't feel that the staff understands that these children need fresh air, excercise and activites other than school work seven days a week.

My son started attending at Oologah for the 2011-2012 school year as a 6th grader. I have been completely satisfied with the staff, faculty and students in Oologah Middle School. Excellent school system to send your child!
