I am an Owasso graduate with a 16 yr old autistic son. The Owasso Special Education services are phenomenal. I owe my son's success to the caring, patient and knowledgeable teaching staff. The teachers accommodated my son's needs and also pushed him to reach his full potential. The teachers are communicative and resourceful and truly want these children to succeed. Because of their hard work and patience, my son is mostly mainstreamed and is at or above grade level. They are also working toward preparing him for life after high school. These teachers are not just thinking about getting these kids through the school year. They are trying to assure that these kids become productive members of society and successful, happy adults.

I have a typical mid-high student as well as a child with special needs. I don't think Owasso is a great school for either. Their special education program is seriously lacking as well as the trained professionals who work in the special needs section. Basically, they've housed all the kids in the elementary school for several years until they reach 9th grade. IEP also don't seem to mean much to the district or the staff here. I would choose another district, not Owasso.

My daughter is going into her senoir year. I thought that the principle and assistant principle were great. I also liked the counselors. She had a couple of teachers that should not have been teaching core subjects. Overall I was happy with the school. I am disappointed that the school no longer has a V.I.C.A. program and I do think we need to have more class choices, especially in the creative department. I also wish they would have healthier lunch choices and maybe make grades available online to parents.
