As the parents of one child who is now at Shawnee Middle School and another one who is a current student at Sequoyah, we would like to share our views and opinions with you. First, I would like to say 'thank you' to all of the wonderful teachers, support staff members, and the principal at Sequoyah. You have each been a blessing to our daughters and we feel proud to say that they are both straight A students who have glowing CRT test scores. Moreover, they have learned the value of honesty, integrity, and responsibility through enriching lessons and interactive projects. Second, I want to share that Sequoyah is doing some beautiful things with their curriculum that will only continue to enhance the students abilities for the future. They truly prepare our children for life. In closing, I would like to personally thank Sequoyah for meeting the needs of my children.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests (OCCT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science and writing. The OCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
