To all of the excellent teachers and staff of Greenwood Elementary, I would like to say Thank You for consistently going above and beyond to effectively teach our children. A special thank you to Mrs. Lori Breshear's for being an amazing 3rd grade teacher. 3rd grade can be a challenging transition for children. Mrs. Breshears knows how to teach the children so that they do not give up or feel defeated as they transition into a more difficult curriculum. Big Thank you Mrs. Breshears!
My son went to Greenwood Elementary from Pre-k to 4th grade and had a wonderful experience. The teachers were amazing, always taking time to visit with me regarding my son's educational development. The entire Greenwood school staff was friendly, helpful and made the entire grade school years experience very pleasant.
I have really liked Greenwood. The teachers are very caring and have gone the extra mile for my children. I like the STAR program that exposes students to the arts... went to the ballet in Tulsa this year. The TLC program after school has also been very beneficial. Ditto to the previous review about the facilities. They are working on this, but need to do a lot more. I think the new principal this year has been good for the school.
Greenwood is a large elementary school. I think they do an excellent job of identifying children with special needs. Most of the teachers seem to care and 'know' their students. As in most schools, there are a few that are ready for retirement. The PTA is very active and supportive of the school. The facility, as with most public schools, needs some work. Overall it is in good shape. It seems like a happy school and with an elementary, I feel that is important.
