To these parents who want to fault the school, why don't you want to leave your name? If you have something to say why not tell people your name or are you ashamed? I have had problems in the past, but I go to school and confront the teachers or principle and they have always worked with me to help the situation. Next time try this instead of what you did!

I have to agree with the parent who said ' the highly gifted are treated more as a problem than an asset.' My son has multiple disorders and one of them being high functioning autism. they do not accommodate him at all. Do yourself a favor, move to Muskogee instead.

Considering it's the only fish in the pond...(no other schools serving our area)..it excells in the Good Ol Boy friendly mentality but lacks in academic excellence, funding and challenge. It offers no Gifted & Talented Program either. There are certainly worse schools, far worse, but even for a very tiny small town school a narrow minded attitude from the entire staff regarding education-in-general. Fair or average is 'good enough' and students with special needs or highly gifted are treated more as a problem than an asset.

Good school if your child can learn in the standard way of learning. They tend to not work with the more challenging children and may even label them as trouble and not allow them to be educated at all. (ie... making them homebound, iss and such) I had a strong-willed child that went there for 10 years. Only 2 years of the 10 did anyone figure out how to challenge him and make him do well and that was Lucky McCuary. Too bad he is gone. The new principal tends not to listen to anyone except himself.
