Great people but very limited resources. The elementary school was good for building esteem and making close friends but even my kids knew it was time to move on when they hit high school. The community is very supportive of education, evidenced by the newly built elementary school building they voted for. This could be a really good school if the community continues to fight for better education, resources, and funding.
Many of these teachers are young still and recently graduated from Weleetka High themselves. A few of them are coaches who received sports related teaching certificates. They are more interested in the athletics than teaching. It would be great to see some teachers with advanced degrees and perhaps a little more worldly than the young teachers.
Trashy town and people. 2 years was enough at this school. Academics are not there and the sports programs were mediocre at best but they emphasize athletics over education for some reason. The turn over of the staff from the first to second year was over 50%. There is no stability in this district at all. Only alternative in the area Is the Graham District which I found odd considering it is in the same town.
