The elementary principal is like no one I've ever encountered... I do not think he likes children. Please consider this strongly when trying to make a decision regarding schools.

This school has made many improvements in the fifteen years that I have had children in school. The teachers are all willing to work with the parents at any time! Like any other school there are a few bad apples but they do not spoil the whole barrell! The only problem with this school is there is a lack of leadership from the top down! You will really like this school

This school is a great district overall. The teachers are great and parental involvement could be inproved, they welcome it, but some are not willing to step up to the plate. It is the type of district where you really have to stay on top of things. The principal of the Elementary could use some work, He really is a great man, but you have to put your foot down and stand your ground with him or he will walk all over you. As far as the comment about the politics, it is not as bad as Edmond where I came from, however you know who the power families are and who is not. They are just like any other town. I have 3 kids in this district and I really love it, but it did take some time to get 'in' so to speak.

my daughter has been attending wellston elementary since she was in pre k and i really like the fact that most of the teachers there do relate to the parents better than the big city schools. my youngest is now there for pre k and loves it . i would say wellston is awesome school better than what i had in the city schools.

The large majority of our teachers are great educators and have the student at the center of learning, and they do welcome parental involvement but do not want it to interfere with their methods or schedule. Small town is great and politics are minimal compared to comparable and larger districts.

The teachers are above average and we have been very happy with the parent involvement and the teachers we have been lucky enough to have had. This school could be greatly improved if it was possible to remove the small town politics and dethrone the little emperors.
