We moved to Wilburton from a big city and the smalltown feel was a little worrisome...at first. Then our 3 children (grade school,jr. high, and high school)started making friends right off the bat. The teachers were very encouraging! Our youngest had a lot of health issues that had to be addressed. The nurse, principal, teacher, lunch ladies were all a team in helping our daughter to succeed and thrive in school! Our son,in high school, was into music and academic team and found a perfect place to fit in!The teachers found him places to excel in these areas, while also opening up new and challenging areas in which to extend his educational processes. Our middle child,a daughter, was also supported and encouraged by her teachers, especially during an exceptionally tough time,health-wise. They provided her with tutoring, etc. in which to keep her up with her class.Great schools, teachers, principals,& community!Very supportive of their young people with scholarships, jobs, etc. Wilburton, the family town!

Wilburton is a great school with an awesome sports program and a great chance for anybody willing to learn. The principal and teachers both will set down with any student. It has many different people. A lot are skaters, normal, ect. But no matter who you are you will have a friend there.

About the tests

In 2008-2009 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests End-of-Instruction (OCCT EOI) exams to test students in high school in several subjects. The results for reading and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The OCCT EOI is a high school graduation requirement. The OCCT EOI exams are standards-based tests, which means they measure specific skills defined for each subject by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
