The principal is HORRIBLE! If you have a special needs child please don't take them to this school. My special needs child was treated horrible and we ended up being bullied into moving.

They don't care at all about gifted students. My step son is in the first grade and can read at a third grade level. Central doesn't do the gifted program for 1st. grade. So he has to be bored in class because they don't care. He first grade teacher is horrible. I wish we could move him into another school.

This school just recently received the A+ school award and received the Model school award for 2004/2005 school year. It's not a crowded school and the teachers are very much involved with your child. My son has been attending for five years and has been challenged to his abilities with a gifted education program. My daughter has been attending for four years and she has been allowed to accelerate in math and reading to her level. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Central.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Oklahoma used the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests (OCCT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and grades 5 and 8 in science and writing. The OCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oklahoma. The goal is for all students to score at or above the satisfactory level on the test.
