Our family loves it here at LCS. The teachers truly care about the individual learner and students are challenged to be critical thinkers. We have found that LCS has a great balance for academics, sports and fine arts. We highly recommend this school. The administration has had some turnover in the past few years and seems to be going in the right direction.

Excellent School! My two daughters have been attending LCS for two years now. Our experience has been nothing but positive. We transferred here from a different private school without any regrets. The quality of education, remarkable caring teachers, reasonable class sizes, outstanding professional staff, respectful students, and excellent extracurricular activities provide the type of environment to which I feel completely confident that my children are where they need to be. I highly recommend this school!

This is our 9th year at LCS and there is no place we would rather be. Students are respected, protected and loved here. The school's vision is forward thinking but still steeped in the basics of God's Word, led by a principal whose dedication is unparalleled. The teaching staff is phenomenal. They are connected to their students and will meet them with an education plan, specialized to their needs/strengths. It is a privilege to be part of this community.

As a parent with a student in elementary and high school, I have a wide perspective. As this will be our 4th year at LCS, I also have long term experience with this school. I can say without any doubt or reservations that this is the best school and value in the Portland area.

I am very excited and proud of our students. This year, 3 of our 8th grade students won $1000 each for their robotics work in the national science competition E-Cybermission. Another student won an American Meteorological Society award for her research that was presented at the Intel Science Fair. Our students won the Judge's Choice Award for their underwater remotely operated vehicle. Not to mention the work of our Science Olympiad students who medaled at state. On the athletics side, the middle school basketball team won in division, a track member won first in state and several others also competed at state. That's just the "extra" stuff too. I am proud of the work the environmental science students did on nearby Butternut Creek. They presented their research to the City Council and have made more plans for the future. Students in the middle school won awards for Math, Debate, and Writing. Students also performed fantastically at the State Fine Arts Competition, along with one student who won the Golden Key Award for her artwork.

Attended for 3 years and are exploring other options. The absolute best part of the school are the teachers. Every one we have had is caring and the class sizes are small and there is a caring emphasis. The majority of the parents attend the church and there are many clicks at the school and big time parent/staff favoritism. It is a safe environment but we have had issues with the majority of the parents and many of the staff. The school is growing and evolving, visit the lunchroom for a pop-in-visit and make your own decision. It is also not uncommon to see some of the older more favored students roaming the hallways. There is zero parent involvement and volunteering is next to impossible. There is little communication and communal fostering unless you attend the church. I would offer a negative review if it were not for the Teachers. If we had not had so many issues with parents and staff we would stay. If you have no intention of being involved in the school or parents and are looking for good teachers and a small environment then LCS would still be a good option.

We Love Life Christian School!! With strong academics, passionate teachers who genuinely love and care for our students, amazing leadership, and great extra curricular activities, Life Christian School is a cut above the rest. We're very impressed with the teacher's attitude of the individual learning style, the teachers focus on the student's strengths and abilities in order to use them to reach their highest potential. They do a lot of project based learning along with the use of technology. The students are so prepared for college, in fact their average SAT score is 1771, that's higher than the national average and also Oregon's average. We also love the fact that our high school students go on mission's trips every year of high school, they can choose Mexico, Africa or downtown Portland, and last year some went to India. That's just another way to education our students and also teach them about serving & giving to others...it's an experience they'll have for a life time. We are beyond blessed to be a part of this wonderful school!

Life Christian School has exceeded our expectations and hopes. For the first time in our child's school life she LOVES to go to school (3rd grade.) In her past two schools, from her 3's and 4's to pre-K through 3rd grade, our daughter begged and pleaded to NOT go to school. Life makes learning fun. Each child is appreciated for their individuality. This is not your typical one size fits all school. LSC emphasizes the different learning styles and gifts of each child. As a parent, I am extremely impressed with the friendly, loving, and highly professional Principal, Teachers, and Administrators. p.s. The 3rd grade teacher is the most dedicated, composed, cheerful, intelligent, informed teacher I have ever known. Principal Taylor knows how to pick high end teachers.

This is a school with vision. I love that they work on technology so that my kids are prepared for college. Incredible staff including a principal with direction, strength and wisdom. Office staff is amazing and so nurturing with my kids. Diverse group of teachers who work together in teams in order to share their unique gifts.

We love what is happening at LIFE. We are so pleased and feel such peace about our children being part of this neat community. This is our first year at LIFE. We looked at many other Christian schools but we felt Life was different. The leadership is outstanding. They seem to see each child as an individual and are committed to helping them grow and reach their full potential. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff seem to truly care about their students. Our kids are shy and the office staff has helped them feel like they belong. They reflect Christ in each classroom and place a huge emphasis on helping our kids grow spiritually and academically. As former home schoolers we were skeptical about a traditional classroom setting. Our kids are thriving and the classrooms are filled with innovation and very often they are having fun learning. Our son has struggled with reading for many years and he is making huge progress. We are relieved and ecstatic about his success. We feel blessed to be part of this community.

Life Christian School is THE top school in the Portland area!! The teachers are exceptional and the best in the state, dare I say, nation? This staff meets daily to ensure that collaboration, teamwork, mentorship and critical thinking goes in to every decision. This staff works HARD. I know, because I was on it, and am terribly sad to leave! My family moved to another city, and I am desperately looking for a school that even closely resembles the GEM that this school is. Know that your child is getting the academic, spiritual, emotional, physical, and social growth that they need to succeed! This staff is highly motivated to integrate technology into each subject matter from elementary through to high school. Each classroom is carefully planned for differentiated instruction and project based learning. This school is moving, growing, and adapting to the most cutting edge techniques available in the area and state. I am sad to leave, but excited to return to see what happens in the next few years. Innovation, creativity, and a deep love for Christ embody this staff. Aspire, pursue, impact- that is the school motto. Seriously, check out this school.. Love, a former teacher :)

We absolutely found excellence in academics, leadership and spiritual growth for our kids at LCS. The transformation that our two boys have experienced over the last 5 years on the school campus has blessed them, blessed our home and will most assuredly bless their future. We are greatly honored by God that He lead our family to this be a part of this incredible school. We are also deeply honored by the staff that works daily, faithfully and diligently pouring into the lives of not only our boys but the lives of every single student on campus.

We enrolled our daughter in the Fall of 2012. She had an awful expierence at her first preschool she attended, so we decided to enroll her at Life. She LOVED every second of every day she went there. Her teacher was Mrs. M. All of the parents are wonderful, the kids are all kind to one another, the principal is exceptional, but the most amazing thing about this school was Mrs. M. She made my daughter feel welcomed, loved, and very special. She learned so much with her teacher encouraging her every step of the way. God is very much alive in this school! My daughter has a love for Christ that grew greatly during her days at Life. We moved to California in Nov of 2012. This school is the thing we miss most about living in the Portland area. It was the best expierence for our little girl. Mrs. M kept in touch with us and our daughter after we moved. This was such a blessing! It made her feel secure and loved, even when her world was changing. Life Christian and Mrs. M... the work you are doing in these young children's lives is phenomenal. Thank you for loving our little girl and teaching her about life through Christ!

I am really excited about this school. We have worked so hard this year to create an amazing science and technology program. Last year our Science Olympiad team placed 4th in state. This year we have a student presenting science research at the Oregon Academy of Science Conference. This summer several students will be doing research at local universities. The great science also extends to the elementary school too. The Elementary School is having a school wide Stars and Space month that will focus on integrating science across all of the curriculum. The school has integrated use of a web-based Learning Management System. This helps us to connect students with the classroom outside of class and allows for greater student participation and helps to make sure the learning is 24/7.

We love the school!!! The new principal has made many great changes. But with that she only focuses on new families, there are so many of us that our children have been at Life way before her. Since per-k and kindergarten ! I would love to see her appreciate us too! I feel it is all about what you can do for her and how much money you can bring in for the school is how you get treated... So many NEW out of pocket expenses!,

I love this school!! I was blessed with the opportunity to attend this school for many years and grew spiritually and academically. The teachers genuinely care about the students and want them to excel. Taking the college courses made a huge impact when I went off to college. Not only did I know what to expect, but I already had college credits going in as a freshman. This school is AMAZING and it is obvious that God s favor is upon it!

Life Christian School has a new principal that started the 2012 school year. We had left a school and were homeschooling when a friend told us about the great things "Life" was doing. I was skeptical but realized that my children needed the social aspect in addition to academic. We went in and interviewed the new principal and grilled her on every possible scenario we could (my husband works in education... he knew the right questions). We left the school that day speechless. We knew immediately that God had brought us there specifically to be a part of the amazing vision this school has. I will say that if your school doesn't have a vision and a plan of attack... then you need to ask yourself why you're there!! The communication is top notch, the principal Mrs. Taylor is beyond exceptional. She drives her staff hard! There are not enough stars above for me to rate how happy we are. And we were a tough sell. I noticed a comment about public schools and foul language. Remember ALL of the parents at Life want great things from their kids and ALL of the teachers are ready and willing to expect great things of your children. We are thrilled to be at Life Christian School!!

I am interested in this school for next year to get away from the vulgar/crude talk my kids are around at public school. My fear is though, that this will be anywhere they go. What are your experiences with this at Life? Do your kids tell you about inappropriate things their peers say at Life? I hear it daily from my 4th grader in public school.

My daughter graduated from LCS and I'm thankful to God for guiding me to this school. God blessed our daughter abundantly in this school. The teacher s first priority is the student s well being. The staff and the teachers really care about the student s academic life and their spiritual life. As for the curriculum, LCS has the very best. My daughter wanted to pursue pharmacy at a 6 year direct program so we moved her to the nearby public school. We thought this would provide her with rigorous courses like AP classes.. After going there for a semester we realized LCS actually offered better courses. LCS was truly a great blessing in our lives. My daughter got accepted into college and she is doing great mostly because of the solid spiritual and academic foundation she received at LCS. - Ivy Fredrick

To the Parent who posted on Dec. 9. I invite you to meet with me regarding your concerns. We may be able to resolve some of the issues you believe to be present. The staff has worked hard to develop our five-year strategy for where we will go as a school. It is our top priority to honor God. We believe we do this by educating our students with excellence. The three main areas the school is developing are technology, college prep courses and sports. Next year we will offer even more concurrent college credit classes and AP classes. We will communicate more information about this at our State of School address in January. To qualify for credit every class we offer must be at least 120 hours or more. We offer an advanced math track and have math all the way through Calculus on our campus this year. The block schedule has allowed flexibility to place our students individually, rather than placing all students of one grade in one class. We work to know our students abilities, and place each one in the class best suited for them. I welcome anyone to come meet with me. We have an excellent staff with an exciting future ahead. This school is struggling to find its identity. The school sticks students in study halls rather than offer them electives or an advanced math program. For example the 8th graders have two schedualed study halls. The block schedual means students actually spend less time in each class then they did last year. They were offering a an advanced math track last year but dropped it this year. The elementary school is better than the middle/high school. They only offer college credit classes through one teacher now and thats only everother year. They offer AP classes, but these classes are not the same as a college credit class to the colleges. Its a disapointment.

Life Christian is an AMAZING school! The teachers are always going above and beyond to make sure students understand the material being taught. LCS has been the best place for my children! My children have flourished in every way, academically, spiritually and socially. The new principal has really taken it to a new level, which is outstanding. There is huge parent involvement and a real sense of community. LCS offers several AP classes and has offered college classes as well, in fact my friend's daughter graduated with 12 college credits 2 yrs. ago. Life Christian also has great athletics with amazing coaches that care for and impact my kids. They also have a fun "Fine Arts" program from kinder-12th grade, and the high schoolers get to compete every year in a 3 day competition in Albany, OR. I love their science program, they have a Science Olympiad club that built a robot and took first place at competition. LCS takes the high schoolers on missions trips and this year they are going to Africa, Mexico and downtown Portland, it shows they teach the importance of serving others. There are just so many opportuinities for my kids to thrive in at LCS. The teachers at Life really invest in students. This is truly a school of excellence in every way! I am proud to say that my children are students at Life Christian School!!

Life Christian School is a private Christian school ministry supported, endorsed and subsidized by Life Church, in Beaverton/Hillsboro, Oregon. The ministry team, staff, teachers all believe in the value of education that is based on Judeo-Christian values and consider it their mission in life to endorse these principles. We look forward to many more successful years ahead in preparing students who can influence their world in leadership, integrity, faith, and excellence.

After having both my sons attend Life for 10 years, we were had no choice but to leave last year when our eldest graduated and our youngest was about to begin High school. Due to some extremely poor financial decisions by the Pastor/Owner of the facility the school has become the financial leg upon which the church depends. I would suspect that the High school will be the first casualty next year. i can say that the school has was once a fine academic and spiritual facility however in the last few years the great majority of teachers and staff whom the parents and kids loved have left and are leaving this spring. My rating for the teacher quality is not based on previous staff. Joe Kennedy

After our 3rd year in this school, we are still committed to continue our child's education here. We appreciate the dedication of the teaching staff and administration to constantly strive to offer the best education possible. She is is a wholesome environment surrounded by parent involvement and academically challenged in the very best ways. We continue looking at other schools each year to make sure we aren't wasting our money, and return year after year feeling that the return on our investment is truly fulfilled.

What can I say! We truly love LCS. Our two boys are going on 5 years being at LCS. This school embraced us with open arms 5 years ago when our last school was financially struggling and closed there doors. The admin. office was truly there for us! The teachers are truly remarkable as well as everyone else on staff. My boys love going to school and learning everyday from their teachers. Everyone at LCS is like family and there is a since of community in the building. If I were to recommend to someone a Christian School it would be LCS!!!

Our family has been at Life Christian School since 2000. We have three children who attend and one who will graduate soon. Our children have received outstanding classroom instruction. We have found the teachers to be involved and caring in each of our child's lives. The staff truly loves the Lord and it is reflected in all that they do. We feel that our soon to be graduate will be fully prepared for a successful college experience. The leadership has been terrific and we look forward to all three of our children earning their high school diploma's from LCS.

This will be our fifth year at LCS and our family is very happy with our school experience. The staff has been extremely supportive and have guided us through some challenges with one of our children who came in with very low self-esteem. Over the last four years we have seen a total transformation of her character and her self worth. The Lord has done wonderful things through our experiences and has given us a new child who is strong and sure of who she is and what her purpose is. The academics at LCS have improved each year. Our children are taught strong study habits. We are very confident that our children will be prepared for any college or university they choose.

We have had our family connected with Life Christian School for 4 years. We started with one child and this fall will have 4 kids in the school. It is quite a financial sacrifice for our family, but worth every penny! LCS has always helped and immediately responded to any problem that has involved any of my kids whether they were the problem or not. I have always been impressed with the solutions, love and caring that my children have recieved - that's priceless. The love of the Lord is the most important value that has been instilled in our home and is backed up at school. I cannot ask for a better school for my kids and family.

I cannot imagine a more perfect school for my family. From the time my oldest daughter entered the first grade 6 years ago; my 3 children have flourished from the loving education they have received at Life Christian School! The teachers work long hard hours to give my children an advanced education and do so while modeling Christ like love. My two boys have educational challenges that all their teachers have partnered with me to address in a non judgmental and loving way. I know without a doubt that God brought us to this school and has continued to bless us while here. I look forward to the upcoming school year with anticipation for what God has in store for the students, teachers, staff and parents of LCS!

I think it's amazing when God directs you to a specific location that is the right place for your children to be with their educational journey. I also believe that he guides us in our relationships with those that are teaching and directing our kids. The rest is up to us. My family has been blessed by the teachers and staff at LCS who care about my kids ability to learn and have put forth great effort to help with the day to day challenges any of us could face with kids that are growing up. I have also been truly blessed with many of the LCS parents I have met that have become extended family. It's funny how people of similar traits seem to be drawn together. We are excited about the year ahead and can't wait for school to start.

I find that LCS is a wonderful school. I have a child that is in the elementary portion of he school. I also have another one that is starting. My oldest has been learning a grade high than they are in. I find that the school, teachers, staff want to do what ever is needed for my child to excel. The afterschool program also works on homework and phonic with my child. My child has been at the top of his class and the teacher still push him. I have no doubt that they will make it into an outstanding college. I am also involved in there learning and do not leave it to the school to teach them. The school also has had to make lots of changes - no principal but I feel they have not let it affect the childern and their learning. Keep up the great work

Change is always difficult! If LCS never experienced change we would be offering the same thing the school offered when it opened 10+ years ago We grow the most during transition in our lives. LCS is always growing and changing to accommodate the changing world around us. We are doing our best to improve our school and offer the best well rounded education possible with the resources available to us at this time. I believe we are doing a great thing here! LCS is offering a valuable resource to our community! I support Life Church, LCS, and the leadership. Good work!

Life Christian is probably one of the worse schools in the area. It hails the Christian goals, but year after year, gossip, backbiting, bullying and overbearing parents rule. Very difficult to find Christian values. The pace of academics is so very fast, the younger grades cannot keep up and the poor grades prove it. Our $5,000/yr. basically paid for chapel - waste of money. The teachers always have a "burned out" look - not a very joyful place to be....almost oppressive. Mostly, the teachers and staff act oblivious to issues and do not take action. A strong presence of lethargy. Chapel is wonderful, but, that doesn't prepare children for college.

Excellent Teachers, you absolutely would not find such quality in teaching anywhere else. This is a college prep school, so the classes are hard, but the teachers want the students to learn what they are teaching. My family has had experience with elementary and middle and high school and we couldn't speak higher of the quality of teachers.

This is a college prep school so the classes are challenging, but you can know that your children are being taught and learning...something you can't always say about public schools. The teachers are well educated and excellent. They seem to care about their students. From PK-12th, I haven't had a bad experience with any of the teachers. The only negative is that the principal is very young and sometimes seems to want to be more of a friend/youth pastor to the kids instead of a leader/disciplinarian.
