This is an amazing school. It is located in a very small community that shows fantastic support of the school and students. The teachers are hands on and obviously genuine in their care for the students academically and personally. I can't say enough about how lucky we are to have this school in Eastern Oregon. The staff, parents and community all make it an exceptional school by which to measure others.

Haines Elementary is your quintessential small school. Enrollment is only about 70 students in K-6. However, every student is personally known by the teachers and office staff. They offer some great individualized learning through assistants and volunteers. The PTCO is very active, and typically raises $7,000 to $9,000 for educational equipment, playground equipment, additional field trips. The PTCO even buys ALL school supplies, so parents don't have to go shopping with that list - the teacher buys what they want. Both of our sons attend Haines, and we are so grateful to have a school like this in our community !
