EHS is a great school with several very dedicated and highly qualified teachers in every department. While there are some issues with limited resources (in my opinion) the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Just thought I'd add that Scott Sullivan is a great principal and I hope that he stays to continue his good influence on the high school.

It is a great school for learning, no the teachers are not the best. However they are good enough, the school/town is small (which is a good thing) so almost everyone knows eachotehr.

I felt EHS was a great school, however, I am an excellent student. I took many upper level class and was greatly prepared for the rigorous science load to obtain my BS in Animal Science.

Estacada High School was perfect for my daughter during her senior year. It is a small schoool with roughly 700 enrolled. However the teachers were skilled and dedicated. The school counselor listened and place my daughter (who has learning disabilities) with good teachers. One math teacher did not utilize a learning method my daughter was comfortable with but she sought help after school and was told she could go to any math teacher. She tried several and found more than one who could help her. As a real bonus the drama teacher was excellent and our daughter really felt encouraged to take on this extra curricular activity.

I like the small school enviroment that Estacada High School has to offer. The commmunity and parent support is outstanding. The students at the school are polite and for the most part respectful to others. I find the school to be light hearted and happy. The staff is kind and caring. I apprectiate the large number of teachers who come in early and stay late to work with those student who need that extra help. The new principal has brought in some of the more traditional expectations of staff and students and a remarkable change has occured almost overnight. School is underfunded and many programs have been cut. But they truly do a nice job with what they have to work with. I give this school 4 stars.

I feel this school is under the academic achievement level it could be at. There is also way too much drug usage.

Too much emphasis placed on football. It's a great game, but only part of the school experience. But overall, a good school.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
