My daughter started kindergarten this year at the SDA school, even though it has only been a couple of weeks I am totally impressed. I dare any parent to walk into the Kindergarten classroom and not be blown away. The hands on activities, reading nook, and resources available to every child is outstanding! The small classes sizes beat the public school any day; 15 to 35+. The safety of the school is also a plus, doors are locked during school hours and the secretary buzzes you in. Staff already knows us by name. Love the loving atmosphere! As a former public school teacher with a Masters in Teaching, my expectation are very high. We are only two weeks into the year.....I'll keep giving feedback as the year progresses.

I have had a child in attendance at this school for five years and I could not be more satisfied. My daughter could easily be a lazy student by nature, but each of her teachers has found ways to positively encourage hard-working habits in her and encourage her best work. I have a strong-willed child and while I believed I needed to get her "in-line" with what I believe are proper behaviors, her teacher explained to me that what she really needs is to be guided to use her will for positive influence - I am forever grateful for this teachers help in understanding my child better. I have a very hard working student who just needs a little freedom and allowed some creativity, and she has that. This school and these teachers are extremely effective for all of my families needs and they love us and their genuine desire is to see growth. They are all capable and willing to meet any child at their level and encourage their growth, hard work and good character.

My daughter has been attending this school for the past five years. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. I love that the classroom sizes are small. The teachers genuinely love my child and take an interest in all aspects of her development. She's not just a number here. Is the school perfect? NO. Of course not. It's run by human beings and we all know humans are not perfect. What we have here, though, is a close-knit community of students, parents and teachers. Working together, our children are being taught love and respect. I would argue you don't get the same thing in public schools.

I took my child out of SDA 1st grade because the teacher was teaching kindergarten level school work. There has been a total of 3 kids removed by there parents. The teacher has heard concerns, but chose not to correct the situation. My child is doing wonderful in public school. His school work at public is MUCH harder. I would not recommend the 1st and 2nd grade SDA class room to any one.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
