I'm a student at MMU, the Middle University part of Phonics Phactory. I went to Phonics Phactory in Preschool-First grade and loved it, my family moved and the budget got tight so I transferred into a public school from Second grade-Sixth. The difference is unbleievable. Phonics Phactory has the ability to provide a strong faith-centered foundation and the teachers are awesome. And of course the 3 day weeks makes it all the better. The workload can get overwhelming IF you don't know how to manage it, but they do provide the skills to learn how to do this as well. I love it.
Outstanding academics! Unique approach to learning, allowing the parents a significant level of involvement but still allowing for a structured school environment. Love that the children are also taught Greatness Phactors that apply manners/morals to everyday life. Phonics Phactory Christian School gives children keys to their foundation for success in academics AND life - which seems to be rare anymore.
Very disappointed in the lack of communication. You better be part of their inner circle or you will be cast aside. Children are not the priority. They seem burned out. There are many better schools on the Eastside and ones that won't shove their beliefs down your throat.
Truly the best private school on the Eastside! Excellent leadership, communication and focus on education. They are very reasonably priced for a private school, especially for how much your child will gain. Our daughter's self esteem soared and her confidence increased! We started her in Kindergarten and moved and she went to public school for one year. Talk about a nightmare! I mean the public school class had 32 children and one very stressed out teacher. Compare to her class at the Phonics Phactory has 15 students (3rd grade!) and 1 very happy and educated teacher! The uniforms are great because it eliminates the need to compete w/ wardrobe and what is cool or popular. Instead the focus is on learning! We could not recommend a better or more thought out school!
The Phonics Phactory has provided a great education for our children. The teachers are well qualified and provide a nurturing as well as challenging academic environment. We have learned to manage our time well to complete the homework, and that is a valuable life skill for each of us to have. We appreciate the excellent education our children are receiving at the Phonics Phactory.
This is my sons first year at Phonics Phactory. I am very impressed thus far. I love the small community feel of the school and I think the parental involvement is great! My son and I love his teacher as well and he is learning so much!
I think Phonics Phactory is a great alternative for a Christian. The people here are amazing, and I wish I didn't have to leave this year. I've gone here all my life. Because of this school, Middle school is my favorite time of my life. The teachers are the best! It may be expensive, but it's WORTH IT. You learn stuff here that you will NEVER forget. EVER.
Contray to what they advertise, Phonics Phactory is not very affordable. Especially now with all of the home school co-ops and charter schools that are super cheap or free! If you break down the cost by days and hours in the classroom, plus add in the cost of the required 'designer' labeled uniform, you are better off paying slightly more for a five day a week school.
I think this school places too much pressure on the students and their parents. If your child is normal and learns at a normal learning pace, then this school is not for you. The school claims their program is two years ahead of public school. What is the point of pushing your child to be ahead by two years?
This school is not for everyone, but we love it! We have a two boys going into second and fourth grade. They have went since preschool. They have excelled academically and have learned respect, discipline, and the good results of working hard. They've went to the M&M (memory madness) Bible class after school and have learned a lot from this. They are happy here and so are we.
