Territorial Elementary School

Territorial Elementary School has many enriching programs. It recently attained 'Green School' status after completeing an extensive ecology project.

Territorial Elementary School is a school that knows how to educate every student. The dedication of not only the teachers but the support staff as well is outstanding. The parent's association is committed to doing whatever it takes to insure that the students have all the opportunities of much larger schools with the benefit of small staff to student ratio. There is an excellent preschool/daycare on site that is included in most school functions. Students that have had the privledge to attend Territorial have gone on to be the best and the brightest in middle school and high school because of their positive start. Territorial is a model of how to have a community of learners work together to accomplish goals. It is an exceptional school that has earned the Premier Green School status for it's work with recycling, composting and insuring a better future for those that come after us.

What I like about Territorial Elementary is the student / teacher ratio, the level of commitment by all the staff and a great parent volunteer group. I have had my three children go thru Territorial with a high GPA. The parent group does fundraisers to allow many extracurricular activities that are not currently in the district budget, such as Artist in residence where a artist will come in to the school and do a project with each class for about one week, they maintain the PE program & have events to bring the school/ community together such as bingo night with great prizes, a school wide Harvest Festival where the students go to different rooms for games and crafts, as well as field trips. We also have a computer lab and a wonderful media skills teacher. Territorial is a caring, warm environment that my children have thrived in.

Outstanding elementary school with a staff that is unrivaled. While I was a student here, I learned a wide-variety of topics and was well-prepared for further educational opportunities. With small class sizes and outstanding parental involvement for field-trips and planned outings, there was always an abundance of opportunities for my fellow classmates and I. The Territorial Parents Association was outstanding in support of school programs, and often helped raise money for special activities above and beyond what the district could afford to provide. Among my favorite memories as a student were the annual Christmas Pageant and working in the student garden! I could not recommend Territorial more highly to anyone and if possible, would be honored to have my own children attend there someday! As someone who works in higher education today, I am ecstatic that there are still great schools like Territorial where kids can get the right start!
