I am very pleased to have my daughter attending Altamont. The staff is very caring about all students. I love how the Principal makes it his objective to make all the children want to succeed. He makes the kids want to be there and always do their best.

I am the secretary at Altamont and feel strongly enough about this school that I have brought my own children here from another top school for their education. Our staff is top notch and work well as a team. Teachers are truly caring for their students.

I am so pleased my son is going to Altamont than Peterson. The classes are smaller, the staff is very caring, and we love it here. Only drawback: Old, junky playground equipment.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
