Always has positive attitude, nice staff and understanding.
If you're an honor student or excel as an athlete this school will be great for you; however, if you do not happen to fall into any outstanding roll you are simply looked over and dismissed as just another student. The teachers there are great, but I believe they are discouraged in advising students because of the depressed state the school is in due to budget cuts. Sports teams are a great extra-curricular as is FBLA, but other programs are largely overlooked including band, theater, and others such as activities like computer clubs, (CAD). All in all it's a decent place but really make sure your child isn't being deprived of opportunity!
This is a great school. I attendend and the prep work really set me up for college. Thank you
Awesome school! My son is enrolled in the honors program and is making excellent progress. School work and grades can be accessed on PASS program on the schools website. The school also has monthly newsletters. My son loves it and is thriving both academically and in sports.
Little or no regular contact with the parents to get involved with childs schoolwork. very poor enviornment to work. Electives are not very interesting and/or challenging to students, or at least mine. it seems kids get away with alot which in turn, gets sent home. problems at school should be delt with at school for skipping, ect. we do our part at home but not enough work is being done at the school.
Mazama is a decent school. Teachers are almost always willing to work with students who need extra help. However, elective classes offerered are not interesting to many students. Classes are challenging for the most part and extra-curricular activities are often having problems with budget cuts. Kids often get away with a lot, such as skipping classes, but when caught disiplinary actions are well handled.
