The Education Board needs to do some investigating at ACIS. There are a few good teachers, but the bad ones ruin it for the rest. Debbie Bach (6th grade), Ms. Pinkerton, Ms. Fuller and Ms. Martin all are outstanding teachers who understand the kids, relate to them and motivate them. Kevin Swan was also a lifesaver for the kids. The district should have left the 5th graders with elementary teachers who are compassionate. Get a clue Central School District and do some exit surveys and protect the children. Parents beware. Believe your child before the administration at this school.

My daughter has had a great experience at Ash Creek so far, and I have been very impressed both with her teachers and the rest of the school. The building is beautiful, the principal has been especially helpful, and I think most parents would agree with me that Ash Creek is a wonderful school. Definitely check this school out.

I have had 2 students go thru this school. One of those has special needs. The school was terrible at educating themselves and the teachers about autism. The principal is very traditional as well as many of the teachers. It is very cold feeling-a child with no behavior, no special needs will get thru this school without too many problems, but if you are at all out of the box...go somewhere else- we did and we love where we are now, what a difference! Run from this school. I will add that the high school has been great with our older son, and the head of special ed for the district is great.

My son just finished his two years here. I am so glad that it's over. I agree with the other review that they seem to focus on the negative. This school needs help getting their priorities straight. Students are the reason they are all there, right?

Ash Creek I.S. seems to have a good system for assisting children with academics. However, I have found, as a proactive and involved parent, that I only get calls that contain negative information about my child. In fact, I have never had a problem with either of my kids, but since she started 5th grade here, she can't seem to please her teacher, no matter what I offer up to help. I think the teachers should focus on the good and strong qualities of the children, and praise them for their positive achievements, and a little less critism of their weaknesses. I am always open to discussing a valid concern. But truly, it has gone overboard, to the point where my child has even been corrected for being injured. I'd like to see the principal at Ash Creek take a more reasonable look at the staff and teachers and make improvements.
