Well as a student I enjoyed the learning atmosphere and the small knit everyone had with each other. The whole school was like one big family. We were able to have one on one time with the teachers and everyone was very accepting.
Our son graduated from OBCS with a great education to build on. I recemened OBCS very highly.
I attended this school for many years and I never had a bad experience with the principle. He is a careing individual who has spent alot of time and effort in maintaining the Schools christian atmosphere.
My students have been attending OBCS for 7 years. We have been very pleased with both the academic teaching excellence and the wholesome environment. The school is regionally accredited, which gives us confidence that our high school graduates can go anywhere to college (some private schools are not accredited and that can cause admittance problems in some colleges). The staff is very dedicated and demonstrates love and care for the students. We are very pleased.
This schools academics were excellent - but at what cost. My experience with this school was terrible! The kindergarten was militaristic and scarry. A year later my children are still recovering from the trauma caused by this school and their hardcore policies on these little children. Their expectations of them are way out of line. Also, the principle rules with an iron fist with both the children and their parents. Being a private school if you do anything to rub anybody wrong, they will simply kick you and your children out of the school and you have no recourse, as you would in a public school. Save you and your children alot of pain and suffering and go anywhere but to this school.
I have been attending Open Bible for seven years now. It is a great atmosphere. The teachers truly care not only for students' success in academics but also personally for the students' as friends. The classes are all extremely small which creates a comfortable environment for better, more personalized learning. OBCS athletics consists of co-ed soccer, girls' volleyball, girls and boys basketball, and cheerleading. OBCS also offers the choice of participating in choir and/or worship team (leads worship in the chapels held once a week) to the students. The students at Open Bible are all very loving. It is a blessing to be able to go to school and fellowship with one big family every day.
The is the best Christian school in the area. I interviewed principals and teachers at 12 different schools before deciding on OBCS. Three other schools I was impressed by where CS Lewis Christian School in Newberg, Community Christian School in Tualatin and Country Christian School in Molalla. Being a conservative Evangelical, I've been very happy with OBCS for the past four years. The only things that I find lacking are the discipline especially in the high school grades and the access to technology. Otherwise the teachers are top notch, the activities are appropriate, and the education is excellent.
