as a parent of a former, long-time and well-known student, i commend this school for giving her the alternative to what she did have when i first enrolled her there, in 1st or 2nd grade. she went from crying right before she got on the bus everyday and hating her teacher to learning to love school enough that she is now an A student in high school. not everyone is lucky enough to have a wonderful school like this in their community. take advantage, if you can!

Lighthouse is a public charter school, they have small class sizes - a 'family' atmosphere, and they use multiple teaching views in order to tap into everyone's ability to learn.

Great school; small student teacher ratio; strong parent participation. Creative means of learning yet good results on state testing.

I love the Lighthouse Charter School! It has been a wonderful blessing to our family:) The academics rock, and everything is centered around music and art. We have great sports teams and the parents are encouraged to volunteer!

A laid back, creative apporach to learning. Music and the Arts are emphasized, and the more traditional subjects are approached in creative manners. Students learn about many different beliefs and ways of looking at things and are encouraged to ask questions and do their own thinking. My youngest son has thrived at this school. My only complaint? Currently the school only goes up to 4th grade; each year they plan to add a new grade. My two oldest children can't attend, so I homeschool them.
